the best part about this is that this guy unironically has one of those awful "realist" sigs and then starts threads like this.

Ok, well then how do you explain that more Jews (including myself) voted for Obama, then Kerry or Gore? Don't you think Jews are concerned about Israel?

Fact is, you can't get elected president of the U.S. without unconditionally bowing down to Israel.

I voted for Ron Paul because he didn't support the Marxist bill that Obama AND McCain voted for.

I was asked what I like about Obama, its sure not his policies. I like the fact that we have a African American president, it is progress.

That's not accurate. Polygamy is illegal because our society believe that's the way it should be.

    My ephasis in bold.

Where is that source from, because I can tell that it is from a non-academic or well researched one just from reading the bold?

Jews have traditionally been Democratic. There are more Republican Jews now then say 20 years ago, but as a whole the group is still significantly more Democratic than Republican. Honestly, I don't think enough Jews feel strongly about Israel to the point that it would have them select one candidate over another. I know many people that have for years had the ear of the White House regarding Israel and almost all of them feel McCain would have been the better choice in that regard.

Umm, come to my Temple or come to my Jewish student union meetings and think that not enough Jews feel strongly about Israel.

American Jews overwhelming (probably around 90%) unconditionally support Israel. Look at Birthright, look at JNF, Zionism for American Jews is an issue that keeps us involved with religion.

I really don't have time for ignorant people like you get on soap boxes and can't find their way down.

You're a moron. You throw out statements like they're fact and you know nothing. Go read the New York Tiimes article "Why Most American Jews Do Not Favor Zionism". And while you're at it check out this article "Early Voting: McCain Landslide Among Americans in Israel". You want more? You're the worst kind of liberal, a dumb one. Now go away. If you had half a brain you'd know most Jews don't go to Temple or Jewish student Union meetings.

BTW, while a majority of American Jews support Israel, it is trending downwards and it's young liberal Democratic Jews leading this trend.

We're in a post racial America?

Obama's election was a fantastic thing for the fight for equality- symbolically.

But his being elected didn't fix the law enforcement system that has blacks being imprisoned at ridiculous rates.

His being elected didn't pull anyone out of the slums.

His being elected didn't change the fact that an African American is STILL according to studies- about 1/4 as likely to be offered a job as an equally qualified white candidate.

Anyone who believes we're in a post-racial America is dilusional.

It is amazing to see Obama set to be the 44th President and it's a huge step in the right direction, but all the injustices dealt to African Americans in this country just because of the color of their skin didn't just disappear overnight... There's still a long way to go

You all need to cool it with the name calling. From this post on any one resorts to name calling is getting a brief vacation.

    Your maturity is really lacking.

I'm telling you, as a Jewish historian, that overwhelming majority of American Jews are Zionist. If you don't want to believe me, that's fine.

Are you a young, liberal Democratic Jew? No? Then stop talking about things you don't know or understand, namely, people like myself. Surveys done by organizations like American Jewish Committee completely dispute what you're talking about. Israel is an important issue to almost every Jew I know (only one who's actually against Israel springs to mind), and nothing suggests that that won't continue to be the case. Furthermore, this election is a definite exception as the scare tactics used against Obama for Jews played a part, as did Lieberman's vocal support of McCain.

I must admit, I find the use of the word "Blackest" in the title of the thread very interesting...

I ask the question again to my young democratic friends particualarly white males. In a shrinking environment for jobs and education, how long is it okay for women and minorities to gain entrance to jobs, schools and get contracts ahead of you based on race, ethnicity or gender?

Now that the Man is no longer in charge when do we get to move on?
