    Great fuckin' post...

I immediately thought of 9/11 after I read this jerkoff's first post in the thread.

  2. For many of us...the bible is a fictional story..nothing more and nothing less. I'm not gonna get into a religious argument...but REGARDLESS of the bible...isnt there something to be said for seperation of church and state? last time I checked marriage is just as much of a legal thing as it is a "sacred" thing for those who believe in a higher power. What POSSIBLE problem could a gay couple getting married have directly on any straight individual or couple?

What does discrimination in hiring which is illegal have to do with affirmative action in a post racial America?

This guy is from the south, enough said. Let’s just say my experience with people who hang the confederate flag have not gone well.

I'm just saying that just because Obama was elected doesn't make this a "post racial America". Racism is still alive and well. Like I said, I don't like affirmative action and I never have, but to pretend that racial issues simply went away on Tuesday night is absurd.

I'm not saying they went away but the proof is clear that race is way less of an issue than people were making it out to be. At what point does affirmative action go from a program to create fairness to one that is unfair? Should it be abolished in a post racial or post Gender America? How do we determine when that is? Or are we to be pigeon holed forever as a racist, sexist society?

    Hmmm...

Using the word "flaming" to describe liberals, implying that they're gay - which you obviously mean as an insult... Using irrational logic that kids will be taught homosexuality in second grade, as if homosexuality is something that can be taught or is a choice...

    And...
You're pissed that you can't use gay as an insult... I'm pretty sure that using gay or faggot or anything like that as an insult is homophobic...

    You use logic such as...

Homosexuality leads to polygamy? Marriage between two people who love each other will lead to people having multiple wives/husbands/"married partners"?

Like, do you think this shit out or do you just spew whatever comes to your mind?

    Yet you claim
    Civil conversation?

No, the truth is that you are, quite honestly sir, a fucking shithead homophobic scumbag. You want to have a "civil conversation," and won't respond to a reply unless it's "civil," yet you have no fucking problem going out and attacking people's sexualities as well as using an extremely demeaning sarcastic manner in your initial post. You can dish it out to people, but no, God for-fucking-bid you take it, too. You basically opened this thread with the premise of "I'm going to attack you and your thoughts in an insulting way, but if you do it to me, fuck off." You sir, are a coward. I could continue to try and use logic to argue against your gay marriage shit, but it's obvious that you're a close-minded, holier-than-thou, religious sheep who will probably either ignore me or berate me when presented with logic.

Days in history are sorta like draft picks. They can't be evaluated until years down the line. I do believe that if Obama's policies go unchecked we will rue the day he will be elected. There were many elections throughout history that people felt were great at the time, but time proved otherwise.

I agree, it doesn't go away, but it should be loud and clear that there are no boundaries to anyone in the US to what anyone of any color can accomplish except the boundaries placed on yourself, whether because of your own ignorance, anger or whatever. it may not be easy, and you may still have harder road to travel, but it is achievable, and whether you do achieve it is up to you. the excuse of the "man" has lost all validity.

But it ISN'T proof. I'm not even going to guess how many votes for McCain were votes against Obama's skin, but the truth is, we don't know. Even if there was ONE, when it comes to the private sector where that one can't be outvoted, then there still needs to be SOME system to make sure things are fair. Again, I think affirmative action, as it is and has been used, is an unfair system. But I think it's more that it needs to be overhauled rather than eliminated.

I would like to state that for the most part I'm amazed that this thread has gone as well as it has. I wanted to express my feelings, but I was leery of what the responses might be, especially considering New York almost never goes Republican. Aside from the expected ignorant posts that added nothing to the conversation, the discussion for the most part has been civil. There are strong feelings on both sides. Hopefully Obama turns out good for this country, but I'm very skeptical at this point.

Yeah, but you are also a Chad Fan, so your judgment is not only monumentally suspect, it is nowhere in evidence.

The problem is that it might be true as far as being ELECTED. Clearly, racists are now a minority in the country, so in an election race shouldn't be an issue.

However, when it comes to everyday situations where one person is deciding alone if someone else is getting a job, it changes. There are still barriers to minorities trying to climb the ladder, be they black, women, whatever. When there is no vote, there is no minority.

Come down to Charleston and still see if you think "race is way less of an issue than people were making it out to be."

    3. Because people believe marriage should be between a man and a woman that doesn't make them homophobic or as you say having "unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality." I guess in your informed opinion well over half our country is homophobic.

    4. Read my reply to Royal Tee and you'll understand the relationship between gay marriage and polygamy.

Now, you ignorant fool, take your 75 or so IQ and go back to you sandbox, because you're just too stupid too have an intelligent conversation.

Where have you been the last 8 years? The past several Republican administrations have not exactly had the greatest of success stories.

Changing of the guard, its time, accept it.

As a student of history, to call the day Obama got elected the darkest day in American history is a pretty pathetic notion of history.

As far as gay marriage, I hope you realize that you are making the same argument that people made against interracial marriage.
