Man, this group is amazing. Many wanted us to draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd, just because this group was so talented, too bad we didn?t.

All of this guys had big Impact during the first half of their Rookie season.
    McFadden
    Steward
    Chris Johnson
    Forte
    Ray Rice
    Hightower
    Jamaal Charles
    Felix Jones
    Kevin Smith
    Steve Slaton

Torain might be the Broncos?s featured guy from today going forward and i can also see Mendenhall have a good career after some early struggles.

Is this the best RB-Class of all time?

This is certainly one of the best classes ever. If not for a lot of injuries these guys would even be better.

The league's running back crop was sort of recycled with this draft. A lot of first round picks have been replaced, or will be replaced very soon. It's crazy to think about my LT, the game's greatest back, will soon be a 10 year vet. A lot of new faces will be entering the game.

McFadden - Al Davis just likes to be flashy. I think they were set with Fargas.
Stewart - DeAngelo Williams needed a bruiser to team up with.
Chris Johnson - Lendale White needed a change of pace back.
Forte - Benson couldn't cut it
Ray Rice - McGahee is injury prone
Hightower - Edgerrin James is worn down.
Jamaal Charles - Larry Johnson's done in KC
Felix Jones - Marion Barber needed a change of pace back with Jones leaving.
Kevin Smith - Kevin Jones swapped places with Benson, and proved to be not very effective...again.
Steve Slaton - Ahman Green was done in Green Bay.

part of the reason I liked Forte and Smith was because they could carry a full NFL load. I like Johnson

I see your point, but RB is such a short living position, there are always teams that need some fresh legs. Just look at last year´s draft and guys like Brandon Jackson or Chris Henry. They were drafted to play right away and given chances, but couldn´t cut it, despite beeing put in pretty good situations in GB and Ten. If you look at this year´s group, there isn´t one guy drafted in the first 3 rounds, that would not have satisfied the expectations, exept those who got Injured (DMC, Mendenhall).

You could add Jacob Hester to that list. He hasn't done anything this season, and he was a 3rd rounder.

I see what you're saying though...a lot of these guys had success right away, and that's a rare.

I haven't seen anyone look remotely close to Barry Sanders since he left. Except myself of course

You can't add Charles or Mendenhall to that list yet - Mendenhall was injured in his first start and Charles had one big game in the first half of the season, even though it was his first featured game with LJ out. They are both talented backs though and I think they will be successful in the league.

Jamaal Charles is supposed to be a track star and 'Lectric Leon looked faster than him in the KC game. If we draft a RB I just hope its a power runner. We need a player who gets accused of being a Touchdown Vulture.

You are right - there really weren't any bombs in this RB draft. Compare that to 2005 where Cadillac, Ronnie Brown and Cedric Benson were all chosen in the first five picks. Because of injury or being a head-case (Benson) all three flamed out. But the top 10 RB chosen in 2008 look like they will be solid players. Even a couple of 5th rounders (Tim Hightower - Arizona , Ryan Torain - Denver) could be eventual starters as well.
