Something that strong would require a super majority vote and the Democrats DIDN'T get that. They would get filibustered on any legislation that denies 2nd amendment rights. The Supreme Court might go the way of Obama's choices but it won't when he first steps in either, so that may be a long way off. Even still, I can't imagine many judges will go against the 2nd Amendment. It would create a hysteria by those who support it, as it is as important to them as the right to choose is to those on the other side.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
You sir, are an idiot. My post is not in the slightest racist. I can see it now, everyone who disagrees with Obama is racist. If you want to change the way you speak because we will have a black president feel free. I won't. People who believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman are not necessarily homophobic. Do you even know what that means? You say I'm entitled to my opinion and then tell me my ideas are ignorant. Serioulsy, I can't have an intelligent conversation with you because you're just not capable of doing so.
not really, we have jumped in east timor, iraq, afghanistan, solomon islands we spent 18bill auss dollars on defence this year 1 bill less than education think we just go quietly quietly
It depends on how strongly Obama can control a Democratic Congress. Right now it's quite conceivable the Democrats could prevent a filibuster by getting the requisite 60 votes. There are four or five liberal Republicans that could possibly go the way of the Dems on all sorts of issues. It's my hope this doesn't happen and that much of what i described can be prevented by filibuster, but that is certainly no guarantee.
Yes of course but how much pressure did the US put on Australia to go into Afghanistan and Iraq? East Timor is essentially your back yard as is the Solomon Islands.... When is the last time Australia started a war? When is the last time they invaded another nation?
You need to brush up on your basic understanding of how this country works. Besides taxes, which you are being hysterical about, your pretty much dead wrong. Gay Marriage, abortion, these have all fallen on states to decide. Did you see what happened in California, Florida and Arizona? Its a free country, you can move where you'd like. Same as issue decriminalizing possession under an ounce of Marijuanna in Massachusettes (now in 13 states). You also obviously don't pay attention to the news about gun laws, where two major cases one Florida that allows residents to bring their guns to work, and one in the DC that allows people now to own handguns in city limits. Yeh, the Brady Bill expired, and I pray to god they write a new one, but as of now, the 2nd Amendment is stronger then ever in this country. As far as foreign policy? Really?! That is some hubris after the past eight years. When people across the globe celebrate you leaving office, it's probably safe to say you did a pretty crappy job. I'm not calling you ignorant, just pointing out some pretty crucial facts that you neglect in your hysteria (or xenophobia) of PRESIDENT-ELECT (sounds great don't it) Obama.
I've counted at least 4 posts that convey similar messages to what I've posted..... I'm not looking to pick a fight with you but saying shit like "The Blackest day in America" make you look like a racist.... now I understand you've already attempted to explain your reasoning a miserable attempt at that.
Seriously, I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain how things work. If you didn't get the implication of what I said above so be it. If you think Obama being elected and perhaps adding 22 million more Democrats only impacts federal law, so be it. I just don't have the patience for explain it anymore than I already have. And believe me, I barely touched the surface of the problems this country could face in the upcoming years. And yes I'm sure the rest of world will love us when we let them dictate our foreign policy, especially the UN.
Now obviously not all 22 million came in last 8 years but care to elaborate what measures the GOP has done to prevent those illegal's from jumping across the borders with such ease since 9-11?
or its his way of saying i am pissed, i decided to spew a bunch of garbage on everyone, and i will not defend a single thing i say.
I guessing its more due to the fact that hey have a pretty good strategic advantage when it comes to actually being attacked by a conventional weapons...well that and nearly 50% of their country / continent is uninhabitable. Throw in a general lack of global influence, political and economic, and they really don't have much to fear in terms of a terrorist attack either (except for issues with SE Asia). Not saying their lack of interest in other country's affairs doesn't help, but then again, they have no reason to. Hey Don, is true you can be jailed if you don't vote? Update: Not jailed, just fined.
I know which is why I have no problem discussing it  Now I need to look at the correlation between my post and polygamy... But then again, you are asking someone who bang so many women before he got "tied down" Sorry, LT..Don't see it..explain....
Well, one might ask the question as to why is polygamy illegal? Why is beastiality illegal? Why is sex with children illegal? The answer is because those relationships are frowned upon by society. It's a question of morality. So if gay marriange is acceptable, what is next? Is polygamy acceptable? Personally, if all parties agree to the situation I don't see a difference. If I have a wife, and she doesn't mind, or actually wants me to have another wife, and we're all adults and decide this is what is right for us, why is that not okay? What is the difference between polygamy and gay marriage in that sense? There is no difference really. At this point in our society, both are still not generally accepted by the public. So if we have gay marriage, is polygamy next? If we have polygamy, what follows that? Is sex with 16 year-olds okay? The point to my long winded explanation is that many laws are driven by the morality of the day. As much as gay rights advocates refuse to admit it, same sex marriage is not accepted by our society, hence should be illegal. BTW, one of the motivating reasons that Proposition 8 won in CA is because once gay marriage becomes legal it can get taught in schools. Do we really need our children, especially our young children taught about homosexual relationships? I don't think so. And if you think it can't happen check out some of the schools in MA teaching gay marriage to second graders. FYI, it's not a rights thing in CA. Same sex couples already have civil unions and most, if not all, of the same rights. They just want the right to be married, but IMHO that's not a marriage.
ah, ok I see.. I'll start with the latter. With teaching kids in school I have no problem with it. Why? because you have to let children who are gay know and understand that it's ok and that if they are gay they will be accepted. I think the fear there by many (which IMO is a little ignorant) is that their child will be taught to be gay or learn to be gay. Either your gay or not. People are so fearful that they'd rather not know and have their child keep it in the closet. That's so unfortunate and IMO is just horrible. Polygamy? I think this should be a state issue. The problem there is that it is more of a religious issue than a government one and for me, I believe in TOTAL seperation of church & state. But, to tie it to underage marriage? nah you can't do that. Just like underage drinking teenagers are impressionable and most cannot/should not make life decisions at that age and having sex with a child in most cases is not really consenting on both sides because of the state of mind of a child. And as for the other, We don't communicate with animals and for consent, you need communication. Back to the issue of gay marriage. Human beings are what they are. I think categorizing and labeling is wrong as a society and denying rights to a person because of what they believe or practice is wrong whether I'm for it or against it. I see your connection now but I hope you can understand why I believe that it's ok.
Besides all your arguments being completely ignorant and possibly racist I find it pretty sad that you think a man that you disagree with becoming president is the "blackest" day in American history. Are you forgetting the recent history of losing thousands of lives to a terrorist attack or is your ignorance just more important to you?

To be honest, who cares if someone wants to marry a person of the same gender or more than 1 person or animals or a rock as long as it doesn't hurt anyone who the fuck cares. If they can teach creationism in school they can tell the kids about homosexuality instead of keeping it a secret and possibly leading to another Columbine.
