I just read that again....Chad is having a better year, huh? OK 5-3 > 4-4. 15 > 7. That is the "greater than" symbol. It's used in arithmetic sometimes to indicate when one value is larger than another. So if his win total is larger and his TD total is more than double, I would love to know where the better year part comes in. He can throw for 1.5 more yards per attempt and have 4 INTS. He still has 1 less win and less than half the TDs. Game.....over.
haha exactly. By their logic Ronnie has 1 TD and 0 INTS!! He's the best QB of any of them!!! Nuts man...just nuts.
It's too bad that we didn't have this discussion two weeks ago. Because back then Matt Cassel still had a better TD/INT ratio than Favre too. Maybe we could have tricked Belicheck and got a steal by offering an even up trade to the Patsies, Favre for Cassel! Then Glauber and his denizens on this thread could have led us in the chant, "Belicheck, we pwned you!":rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
This thread needs to be flushed down the toilet! Chad is gone, move on....he is never coming back. Besides you cant compare Brett to Chad, they are playing on different teams with different coaches and different plays. Its like saying "we beat miami and miami beat the pats so we will be the pats." It doesnt work that way. MOVE ON AND LET THIS THREAD DIE!
McNabb TWICE tore his rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder? I didn't know that. Career wise they don't compare but RIGHT NOW Chad is playing better and when healthy Chad has been as good or better than Brett this decade. He has half the talent around him and Brett has FOURTEEN TURNOVERS! That negates most of the TDs including the garbage time TDs at SD. Chad has been better and it's really not close. Cassell has played better than Favre most of this year. What games do you guys watch that you think Favre has been good this year? I hope he eventually gets good to great but so far it's laughable to think he's had a good year.
No, but part of being a good/great player is staying healthy and coming back from injury and performing at a high level. McNabb has done that. Chad, not so much. This is asinine. First of all "Chad when healthy" was rare this decade; that alone makes Favre a better player. And the rest of the comparisons, I don't even wanna get into because this is the most ridiculous argument I've ever seen anyone tried to make. Even though I know how you'll answer this, I'll ask anyway. Do you think Pennington leads that 60 yard game-tying drive with a 1:30 left against Oakland? The answer is no, and that's the difference between good, winner QB's and Pennington.
43 years of watching mostly inferior football, I have to tell you last year was the lowest point ever watching those 3 yard dump passes every play I think things are at least more exciting these days at least we score points and it's watchable, last year was totally unwatchable...
This is ludicrous. OMG I'm officially on the "junc has no rationale when it comes to football" bandwagon. Chad by being hurt has ruined MULTIPLE seasons. Even when healthy( which is like 2 seasons!), his play cannot touch Favre's, even in this last decade. My god, this guy can actually say with a straight face that: "Chad has been and is a very good QB" And immediately follow it up with: "Brett Favre has been mediocre this last decade" Man I feel bad for actual Jet fans that have to put up with this nonsense all the time. I am a Packer fan that was able to let go of a legend. How can this man not let go of Penny?
Chad led us to 10 wins and a playoff berth in '06 after we went 4-12 the year before w/o him and he has Miami at 4 wins when they had 1 all of last year. I'd say he has come back from injuries. he also came back from the injury in '03 to lead us w/in a kick of the AFC Title Game in '04. Chad hasn't been healthy often but when healthy he has been better than Favre since 2002. I don't think Chad has to lead that drive against Oakland b/c he wouldn't have thrown that terrible INT to cost us points. Have you noticed the only QBs to struggle against Oak this year were Favre and Thigpen? No one else has had problems torching that D. Don't be a jerk now. I apologize if I don't fall prey to meaningless fantasy #s and I cann see beyond them b/c I undrestand the game. Chad hasn't been healthy most of his career but when healthy he has been better playing in a tougher division and tougher conference this decade. He destroyed Favre in their 2 head to head meetings when he was a Jet, he has led us to the postseason 3 times(in his only 3 healthy years) including a div title that interrupted a dynasty. Chad's only issue has been health but when healthy he's very good and Favre most of this decade hasn't been very good.
In both 2004 and 2007 Favre had better seasons than ANY of Chad's since 2002, healthy or not. You cannot argue this point, it is not even possible. Heck his other seasons aside from 2005 are as good or better than most of Chads. Even if you throw in Chads great 2002 year, Favre had a great 2002 year as well.
Excellent job waltzing around the question. Let's say Chad is at the helm in that game and we're down FOR WHATEVER REASON. Do you think he leads that game-tying drive in 1:30 (maybe even less)? Keep in mind, that drive started around the 10. I remember Favre buying time in the endzone and hitting an open receiver. Chad would have crumbled, and you know it.
Chad played but he wasn't healthy in '07. In '04 before he hurt his shoulder Chad was off to a better start leading his team to a 6-1 record and having a rating around 100 then he had this little injury to his throwing shoulder that derailed him a bit. IF he's in that spot he probably doesn't lead us down the field, not b/c he would have "crumbled" but b/c the D did respect favre's arm more than they would have Chad's and even though we didn't throw deep on that drive it opened things underneath for our receivers.
Let it go Junc, Brett's our QB, root for him, when Chad was here I rooted for him...but he's gone know...let's move forward...:jets: :finssuck:
Show me a post where I said I wasn't rooting for him, if you do I'll put an I love duke avatar up for the next 6 months. I have said it a million times- I LIKE Favre, I want him to succeed badly. I don't care who we have at QB I want to win! That doesn't mean I can't be honest about how he is playing and so far Chad is playing better. That's a fact. That doesn't mean it will stay that way, I am hopeful Brett plays well the 2nd half and takes us places in January. I WANT TO BE WRONG about the Chad/Favre topic!
Junc please go root for chad on the phins board I'm tired of reading your chad loving irrational crap
Who are you? why did it take you until the jets spent some money in FA to start posting? if you don't like my posts don't comment on them.
I'm sorry, I forgot to read the disclaimer that when you get an interception it removes wins and TDs from your record.. Yeah, that makes sense. A truly great football mind has spoken.
