Call me blasphemous or crazy, but if the Raiders were to release Russell anytime before he was 25 I'd take a shot at him.

Personally, I think he'll be a very good QB for them.

He has the talent, but does he have the mental capacity to play the QB position. I see a dumb lost being behind center.

I still take Quinn over him. I think Quinn has more heart as well, and he did play in ND with the pro system--- Any bias from me?? Nooooo not at all.

As long as there's a Jamarcus thread going, am I the only one who thinks he sounds like Elvis?

I'd take Claussen when he is eligible. He's getting better with each year.

Word. Weis can stay at ND as long as he wants as long as he keeps feeding the NFL QBs.

I heard the new #1 HS QB came to visit ND a few days ago... I wonder if anyone told him that Weis' pro offense is the best outlet to turning pro????????

Not that it would surprise me to see a young QB want to go there now, but they got last years #2, Dayne Christ.

Back to Clausen: I think he can be a great QB prospect. If he sticks around, he'll leave extremely polished and he's really naturally talented. He definitely deserves to be talked about more in the underclassmen QB discussions we...don't have here lol.

I always thought it was fitting for a kid named christ to play for the Catholic Mafia.

I don't know who Jimmy reminds me of, but his ego fits his desire to win, and his mechanics are solid for a true sophomore.

I wouldn't be surprised if he declared next year, and unless he has an amazing year - he'll be a late 1st, which may bode well for this team's draft motives in 2010. I still think this franchise will want another year from Favre- its more of a business decision rather than the desire to win. He brings in more $$$ than some hotshot young QB.
