Leon Washington could be the greatest draft steal since Tom Brady. This guy is FANTASTIC! He was team MVP last year and probably will be again. This man saves our ass every week, seemingly. This is seriously Reggie Bush talent that we acquired in the 4th round. His special teams play ALONE is a huge contribution. But he's does SO MUCH MORE than that. He is turning into one of my all time favorite players very fast. I LOVE this guy! We are blessed to have him.
You sir, are not sober. LW is awesome, but you just started a thread that will get attacked for pure wrongness.
In the words of Chris Farley: That is correct! http://thatiscorrect.ytmnd.com/ Leon Washington isn't good enough to hand tweeze Reggie Bush's pubes. I like Washington too, but Bush is on another level. He's a spectacular player when he has the ball in his hands. He's just one of those once in a decade players. I know he's shown he can't be an every down RUNNING back, but he's proven he needs to be on the field on every down whether he's lined up in the backfield or in the slot. He's scary.
I hear the dude walks on water and has X-ray vision and a cloaking device. I like him too, but hey ... I don't think we warrants his own "100% pure unadulterated man love zone" thread
Not only that, but he can sneeze with his eye open and I hear one time he killed two stones with one bird! (im just stealing chuck norris jokes)
I do...well...perhaps without the man love  He along with Jenkins are the two impact players on this roster. I just am wondering if someone stole Als computer. Very impressive outlook Al!
not the point, because Bush was drafted second and hardly a draft steal. he never said the best player drafted, just the best player drafted in a later round, which makes the Bush comparison irrelevant.
I agree. I'm content with Leon, I personally thought he should have been given the chance as a rookie to be the every down back before we got Jones. I like Jones, but I think Leon is better. He's certainly the game changer people bitch about us not drafting at the top of the draft. As long as we got him, I don't care when. Makes it even better that we got him that late and still managed to get Brick and Mangold in the first round to block for him.
He's a better version of Bruce Harper and Harper was a damn good player for a bunch of years. If the Jets had to lockup one player right now for the next 7 years Washington is the guy I'd like to see them lockup. He can be the change-of-pace back forever and the best KR/PR in Jet's history when he's not doing that. The field position he gives the Jets on special teams is probably worth 8 TD's a year. Throw that on top of the 8 TD's he's going to score and he's an amazing asset.
Yeap, if they let this guy go, it would be unforgivable. He adds dimension to the offense and he is a great player on STs.
Leon is like a poor mans Brian Westbrook. Can do a little bit of everything, but doesn't have the power to be an every down back.
Leon is a classic "utility" player. He's so versatile and can do so many things that I think he'll be here a long, long time.
Apparently you don't know what this guy is all about and what he does for our team. Reggie Bush isn't an every down back either and he was drafted SECOND overall. Leon was an incredible steal.
Reggie Bush is an every down football player. He can line up at any skill position other than QB and have success. He has better size, hands, speed, and agility that most receivers in this league. I know he was drafted to play running back, but the Saints use him as he should be uses: all over the place. He creates matchup problems all over the field. Bush has things that Washington doesn't. This doesn't mean Washington wasn't a steal, but Bush is and will be the better player.
I don't know really, whether Reggie Bush is all that spectacularly better than Leon. I never was Reggie Bush fan, and never will be - flame me all you will, but I have my reasons for my skepticism. 1. Is he durable? You don't pick a franchise RB in 1st round that is NOT durable. Stupid idea, if you ask me. 2. True, he's got some moves and all that - but so what? The fact of the matter is that, if he's not on the field for the majority of the offensive snaps, he wasn't worth 2nd pick overall. Add to the fact that he's pretty frail, and we've got a problem here. Now, Leon may not have all the flashes Bush does (and I think that's an unfair assessment on Leon's part - he's got enough of flashes of his own) but he's on field whenever his number is called. Can do a bit of power rushing if needed (like his TD run a few weeks ago against the Gayders) His best asset is that he's not frail like Bush. Given choices, I'd pick Leon over Reggie any day of the week - and twice on Sundays; that's called "accountability," my friends. *You know, I just HATE to see injury-prone glassbodies sitting on their ass on the sideline picking up multi-million dollars for doing exactly nothing.*
Intentionally fielding a kickoff with one foot out of bounds because he new the rule is something you would have a hard time drilling through a 10 year veteran's head - shear genius. Washington is one of my favorite players, too. He seems to do something great every week. I hope it continues to rub off on every player on the team.
Reggie and his 3.6 YPC impress you? Reggie has many more recs but they focre him the ball and his7.5 yards per rec isn't anything special. leon averages a full yard MORE per carry in the running game and half a yard more per reception. We made out like bandits by not overpaying and moving up to get Reggie Bush.
