Really sucks about the Zambrano situation. Is this the decider on his future with the team? --- I'm fine with the Glavine deal for now, but there's always that looming fear that he starts pitching his age.
Please don't tell me they already picked up Glavine's option barely even a full month into the season. Worst idea ever.
I dont follow the Mets but I thought he was an impact pitcher . Not like Senor Pedro or B Wagner but a strong pitcher .
He has been nothing but garbage for us, with the exception of one stretch last year. Mediocre defines his career.
Now imagine that the Yankees gave up Phillip Hughes for Jaret Wright and you'll know why everyone hates the Zambrano trade.
As I said at the time in the game thread, this should be the end of the sad Zambrano-Kazmir saga. Perhaps they'll offer him a minor league contract next year on the off chance he can still pitch, but I can't see him on the major league (or 40 man) roster. I also suspect that the info on Glavine from an "insider" is what I said weeks ago - if he continues to pitch the way he is, the Mets will gladly exercise his option. Since it's a team, not a player, option, there is absolutely NO reason to even think about it right now.
