Due tomorrow. Yankees have been awfully quiet about it. I'm thinking they put in a 60 million dollar bid.

Yisman can we have a virtual vegas bet on this?

Hopefully, otherwise it will be another complete disaster of an offseason by Cashman..two in a row while everybody else gets stronger.

I'd go 60 million for him...He alone will raise the asian market here and bring $$$$$$ for the yankees in merchandising and Yankee endorsements.

He's actually half middle-eastern, which was a surprise when i found out

Quick, Don, name the team with the best record in the American League last season.

This was the argument used for dice-K to the Red Sox and it isn't actually true. Merchandising isn't team specific it all goes into one big pot and is split equally among every team in the league. Also the only time a Japanese player has increased revenue for a team was Ichiro, and mostly that was because they are owned by a Japanese company (Nintendo) who broadcasts their games in Japan.

Edit- as to the original question, I think Texas wins the bidding, they can't agree on a contract and Darvish pitches one more year in Japan before becoming a Free Agent.

Don't ever change, Don. Without garbage like this, TGG would be far too boring.

The same team that couldn't get past the first round...oh wait you forgot that right? You actually think winning the regular season means something. That'a a Met fan attitude, are you in drag?

And you are another one that thinks getting your asses kicked in the first round is something to be proud of. Totally pathetic. Find another team to root for, you certainly aren't a Yankee fan.

Lolz, neither are you, we all know that.

This is obvious "Ignorant Entitled Yankee Fan" schtick.
    Boring, yes.
    Unfunny, yes.
But hey, it keeps you off the streets...so there's that I guess.
At least it goes well with the "Least Knowledgeable Poster" schtick.

As far as Darvish, I'd be very happy to get him but I'm not expecting it.
These "stud" Japanese pitchers haven't been world-beaters in the Major Leagues anyway (Dice-K has been ok but injury prone, and Irabu...well....).
However Darvish is only 25 and has been more hyped for a longer time than any other NPB pitcher I can recall.

This has to be a joke? Did you see these clowns want to have a $55 million dollar pay roll next season? They have over 40 million locked up in 2 players. They'll be rolling out people like me to play CF for them next year.

I think San Fran ponies up the cash to nab him. It's a good market for him and it's a pitcher's park so he could do well. What's kind of weird is he's getting all this hype and I think I can safely say I'm the only one that has ever seen him pitch and in that game he blew a save for the Japanese team in the WBC at Dodger stadium. he also ended up getting the W.

Honestly I'd like to see the Nationals get him. They've been trying to spend money and he and Starsborg at the top of the order could be exciting for that club.

Of course it is a joke, they just took out a $40 mil loan- how would they even be able to pay the posting fee?

You can officially eliminate the Orioles, Red Sox, and Twins, as all did not bid.
