My first thought was this is bad. My second thought was how long until the media and fans start to work on him. My third thought is the CS might get conservative to avoid mistakes and he might go into a shell and we could get blown out badly. I was hoping he would show poise and composure and bounce back. But this is the Jets. We never get nice things so I was very worried. I was impressed by his poise and it reaffirmed my belief in Sam. This is the first time I have ever thought a pick six was a good thing. I am So excited and impressed by Sam.
I missed the first few minutes trying to get a stream to work and couldn't understand how the score was as it was so quickly but by the time i got to the game he was getting more into his stride so i wasnt too thrown by it (had I been watching I would have been 100% SOJ mind)
I was dead silent for 10 seconds with my hand over my mouth ... looked over at my wife (as my 11 month old son had just went to bed) and told her what had happened ... it wasn't until later that she understood it was pick six she thought at first it was a Jets touchdown ... glad I was sober as I just told myself he will bounce back it was one play ... if I was drunk I would've jumped out my window like a few others mentioned in my head I was thinking that this is just so Jets like to be any different - god had to give us one more punch in the gut before he said ok its time for change ... you guys have suffered enough. PS Johnny Unites did it as well according to get up on ESPN
Alright here we go, roll out on the first play.. What? WHAT! sigh.. ok, so it's going to be that kind of night.... alright, ok.. this is just going to be part of the Darnold legend... so let's go, I guess.
1.Laughed uncontrollably 2. Thought that it was always going to happen somehow. 3. Watched the next 2 series really focusing on the play calls and the way he handled that. I was impressed with the sacks he took, in 2 years i won't be but for me I would rather he has two hands on the ball and take the sack when it comes, than trying to recklessly make a play or get rid of it. Very impressed and it almost looked like a determination in his face that it wasn't going to happen again. Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
According to Rich Cimini "This is rather remarkable: The Jets are the first team since the 1992 Eagles (Week 12 at Giants) with a 30-yard passing, rushing, defensive and return TD in the same game, per Elias. wow !
I was not worried one bit, my wife looked at me and asked...”was that the Jets QB?” I said yes, but it’s ok, better he get it out of his system now than do it later in game when it’s important. Started receiving texts from giant fans, I told them same thing, it’s early. At some point in the third quarter no more texts from giant fans and wife went to sleep. It was just me, the Jets and TGG.
I was at the game in the upper deck. I was very drunk and just got to my seats when the play happened. You could see the Lions DB just waiting for him to throw it. It was horrible then but funny now
i just laugh and said go figures. will make a nie blooper reel when he's getting inducted into canton
I was waiting for them to play the game at the bar. I heard some yelling and turned around and saw that it was 0-6 Lions on 1 of the TVs. Then they replayed it. After that, I told the bartender to please play the game on the flat screen in front of me.
This was my first reaction too, but I was not completely deflated and after he had success on the following drives and I was reminded about Favre throwing a pick six also, I actually got a kick out of it
This was funny I heard a lot of whining and gnashing of teeth by Giants fans for not picking Darnold today LOL
I know, that's why he isn't the greatest QB of all time. But without him the Vikings never reach that NFC championship game.
