Mikey's simulcast on YES Network will terminate at the end of January. He will be replaced on YES by (guess who) Michael Kay. YES denies it has anything to do with the A-Rod suck-up, but you have to think it factored into the decision. You also have to believe that Kay will be more Yankee-friendly than Francesa because Francesa will criticize the Yankees at times. Francesa show is getting worse and worse. Every phone caller is subject to his ire and yelling. It isn't the same since Dog left. Mikey has other TV suitors including MSG Network, who lost the Boomer and Carton simulcast. IMO this is going to put Kay into the ratings advantage, real quick. I, like many prefer to watch Francessa's show. Losing the television aspect is going to hurt a lot imo. Francesa will get put on another station for sure though. MSG or SNY will sign on with WFAN to get the TV rights. It might not be for awhile though, Boomer and Carton's show has been off TV since September and apparently is going to take some time before they get back on TV because they said the negotiations take awhile.
Wow he must have really pissed them off. I know a lot of people here don't like him but I always record and watch his show. Won't be able to listen to him on the radio. Boomer and carton show is going to air on cbs sports network. Hopefully Mike won't be away from tv for too long. Michael Kay is such a homer that I think I'm gonna pass on his show.
Wasnt aware, thats great news. Those guys are about to get national exposure. I wonder if Fatty is headed to that network, Francesa has already built a national audience through his Sunday Morning NFL Show. The more radio shows on TV, the better, Id rather watch radio then watch ESPN's bullcrap.
The article says Francesa is down on going to CBSSN because he doesn't want to talk national sports. I suppose he'd rather spend his time ripping the Jets.
Wait so Boomer and Carton will be geared toward the National Audience now? I guess it makes sense if the majority of the ratings will now be coming from all over the country.
Francesa said today that CBS has already been offered deal to simulcast his show. Francesa just signed an extension with CBS last March and im sure sure CBS paid him well. CBS will find a TV station for sure, its basically just straight profit for them.
So they are replacing an ignorant jackass with another? Wonderful. Not that Francesa is eloquent speaker and genius, but Kay says some of the dumbest things I've ever heard. He'll be perfect for YES.
I'm with you, Kay is a boob. The only thing worse would be giving John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman their own daily show.
