I gave you crap for continuing to think Garcia was awful even though he was (at the time) outperforming Nova, but other than that, I'm not sure I remember anything. The only other thing I'd say is that it's one thing to have the stuff to be a solid ML pitcher... it's another to actually be able to execute. Nova's always had the stuff. Of course, so has Burnett, and we know how that goes.
Why are you assuming I mean you? Hell, if it was you, I'd flat out say it. Anyway, how do you make up for grounding into two DPs? You hit a 2-run homer to tie the game. Granderson is absolutely ridiculous. M. V. P.
Granderson two run homer to right! tie game Wind has been blowing hard out to right today. I'm surprised there's been so little scoring.
I wasn't assuming that... I was just trying to think of who gave you crap about it, and you said you couldn't recall who it was. Didn't know if that was what you were thinking of or if it was something else. Hopefully Hughes pitches well on Saturday. I'd very much prefer it if Burnett was in the pen.
Robby Cano with a grand salami following an Angel error. AWESOME. R Soriano with another scoreless inning.
1st: no runs 2nd: no runs 3rd: no runs 4th: no runs 5th: 2 run homer, Angels 6th: 2 run homer, Yankees 7th: grand slam, Yankees
And I was sitting in the right field seats, it was a great day to be out there. Callaspo and Cano hit absolute bombs. I really think that Mo is going to straighten himself out soon. Branyan was cheating and Rivera couldn't get the ball inside, so it got crushed--his location has been off in his last 3 outings. But Rivera's never had a problem that he couldn't make an adjustment to, and I don't think that this will be any exception. 2005 Rivera is gone for good, but 2011 Rivera is still the best closer in baseball.
I can't believe there is still talk of concern about Mo today. He didn't lose yesterday did he? He's throwing some flat cutters (I'm only assuming with yesterday, since I only listened not watched) but I would still say he's at the top of the list of guys any team would want to close their games. I can't believe there's a chance AJ could go to the pen! That's the kind of move I want to see from the Yankees. I don't care how much he's getting paid. You can pay him all of that money to pitch a good inning or two out of the pen in the 6th, or you can pay him all of that money to throw games away in the 6th of a game he started. You're paying him either way, at least get better results, if not value. Of course, that's conditional on Hughes pitching well tomorrow. If he does though, no excuses, both guys have had a legitimate shot, and both of their "final" chances are against teams who have fought for playoff spots this year.
