Buhler ? anyone ? Do you remember or do you have to google search it ? "I remember on the 13th of July" ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
New York had a blackout for 25 hours or more and nobody real knows the reason why see the Trammps "where were you " time flies remember it like yesterday
Kid stuff - the one in 1965 affected three times as many people, but it didn't have the excitement of the riots, fires and looting.
Matt thats funny, worst part for you is since it was the original you could not find out how Egarn and O Rourke got out of that jam . lol
Yeah, this was only a few weeks after Son Of Sam killed a couple right near where I was living, I was a teen so it didn't bother me but after the power had been out for a couple of hours I overheard some of the neighborhood moms fretting about it. I just slept on the terrace that night but don't think I got too much sleep since it was in the middle of a heat wave if I remember correctly.
his murder outside the elephas disco in bayside is about 2 miles or less from where i grew up in douglaston
The one I am talking about, Alexander Esau, and Valentina Suriani, was on the service road between I95 and the old Freedomland property next to Co-Op City in the Bronx. The vacant land was a dumping spot for bodies but because these were Son of Sam murders it got everyone bent. Don't worry about the others getting shot and stabbed outside your front door every week.
haa haa! yeah as lobg as you're not writing about your conquests to jimmy breslin and having them printed out in the paper, you're ok to slash and burn away!
NYC summers were hot before AC was normal. I can't remember what I was doing that day. 1977 is a bit hazy and the days kind of meld into each other.
It was hot as balls , I slept on my fire escape that night in Bklyn---fyi Son of Sam fear was running wild,,,,,BTW they caught one guy but that gun was passed around .
That was some crazy stuff. It was wild. The looting, the brownouts, too. My cousin was flipping out, she had to wear a kerchief on her head because she was a brunette. Berkowitz gave a bad name to adoptees everywhere. He'll never get compassionate release/make parole. He'll never be able to be transitioned back in to society, so let him die in xzy up here at our expense. He writes, he paints, he's Born Again (please), he feels badly for what he did, but I think the best thing is for him to die in obscurity.
It was hot as balls, I'm dying here. Fckn hell, NYC for the win. I think it comes from your boys being plastered to your leg, although sometimes truncated to, "It's balls outside!" - in the Winter. Common expression around here. Thank you, Sir, for making me spit out a Manhattan Special.
I am here to help ! My kids and friends refer to it as ------> take Manhattan specials and any other beverage that could be a projectile away from faces at this point---------------------------> " batwings" just sayin ps renting mopeds was a big thing that summer ,,,,,as I remember some were rented and never returned
