Some of you guys are going to think I'm off my rocker for proposing this....which I might be --but I really thing getting a bright offensive mind like Shaw in here (or Harbaugh) would be the BEST decision to maximize Darnold's potential. Shaw has raved about Darnold time and time again during his interviews--thinks he's one of the best QB's he's faced. I think a Shaw / Darnold combo is powerful-- Also Shaw is well respected and would help attract talent to come play for us...he knows how to work with younger players which is important for the team right now. Do you guys think this could happen?
I'm not sure if he would because he seems to love his Stanford / TV gigs. But man, I would love him as a coach. And yes, he was all about Darnold during the draft process, it makes the position very enticing. Would also throw out Dino Babers who is currently coaching Syracuse. He is revered right now and has the program heading in the right direction.
