Do you not find yourself falling in love with this gritty fucking team each week? Did I not tell you 4-months ago this team would fight, did I not tell you that this would be a fun team to watch? I never said the P-word, but I did say this team would compete and be a kick in the ass to watch each week. 13 minutes left in the 2nd quarter against the Pats right now on October 15...are you having fun right now?
Man. I haven't seen a team this FUN to watch since 2009 when Sanchez was a rookie. That defense. Run game. Physicality. Blew my mind. 2010 was awesome but 2009 was so exciting. This 2017 team is super fun to watch. If you can't enjoy a 14 point lead over N.E? 14-0? With a potential record of 4-2 overall staring you right in the face? Along with sole possession of 1st place within the AFC East? With a chance to go 5-2 against Miami heading into week 8? All for an unknown college player? You can't enjoy this? You've gotta tell every believe just how "wrong they are" for being excited? Well then i feel bad for you.
Here's what's also stunning to consider. They just might be the best team in the AFC East by the end of this season. We're talking scary ground.
Actually, I thought we'd be 5-11. I'm depressed because we're probably going to go 5-11 and that means we will not get first choice of all available QBs in next year's draft. And without a Pro Bowl caliber QB, this team is never winning a championship.
Ridiculously flawed reasoning and absurd calculating. You don't need a 1st round QB to win a championship. You people are simply amazing with this bullshit.
Don't worry, some day you'll be my age. And on that day, the Jets will still not have won a championship. And on that day, you will have a clear-eyed understanding of exactly what the Jets need to do in order to win a championship. And on that day, you will be depressed that seemingly nobody in the ownership or front office has any idea what they need to do (or willingness to do it). And on that day, some idiot who has been a fan of the team for about 10 minutes will be delighted that the Jets are 6-10 (or 7-9, or 8-8) "and showing promise," just like the last fifty years.
Sorry. But if we're 4-2 after 6 weeks with a win over NE then, no. We're not going "1-9 the rest of the way". 5-11? Laughable. Clueless football knowledge is powder puff.
Uh, perhaps you forgot to look at my user name? I'm 54, I watched Al Woodall come off the bench for Namath. I saw Fisk's JJ Jones play the position. By the way, since Joe, as I continue to make mention of, the Jets have had 4-5 QB's capable of winning a SB. Its not been a lack of talent at QB position that has Kept Jets from winning title since January 1969.
I wasn't speaking to you. This should have been obvious since I quoted somebody else. They have absolutely had 3 QBs (in 50 years) capable of winning a SB - Testeverde, O'Brien, Pennington (even Favre for a season). However, they have not had a HOF caliber QB during this time. And when you have a HOF caliber QB, you have a chance EVERY SINGLE YEAR of winning a championship. In the NFL, you either have a Pro Bowl caliber QB, or you are rebuilding. We are rebuilding. I'd rather have the Pro Bowl caliber QB.
Very much so for me, love the fight of this team, played their asses off in at 1st half. Amped up for H2. Title of thread is: WIN, LOSE, OR DRAW.
