Baseball is by far the worst, IMO. Too slow, too boring, I can only watch it in 1x FF mode. Don't get me wrong, going to games is great, but when you're at home watching TV, I feel like there's better things I could be doing with my time than waiting 2 minutes between every pitch. Fav to least fav: Football Basketball ...big gap... Ice Hockey Soccer ...big gap... Baseball
I like football, hockey and soccer all equally. If I was pushed to choose one it would probably be football, but there are few sporting events as exciting, as engaging or as intense as a good hockey playoff series, and no sporting event has an atmosphere quite like a big soccer match in Europe. After that I like basketball and baseball well enough to watch live, but both are fairly dull to watch on TV. I used to be a huge cricket fan, but with it being virtually impossible to watch on TV over here I've pretty much lost track of it these days.
You were slightly onto something until you listed soccer. I'd rather watch the longest, more boring baseball game in history then watch ANY soccer game. You wanna talk about a waste of time? Watching a bunch of pussies prance around in the grass kicking the ball for hours, with multiple instances of grown men carrying on and on by laying on the field crying over a stubbed toe to try to get a penalty. It finally ends in a 0-0 TIE, whereby both teams and their euro-trash loser fans celebrate like something was actually accomplished that day. UGHHHH
Football's just a bunch of fat men all running into each other, hockey's just a bunch of goons fighting each other, and you might as well just watch the last two minutes of all basketball games as it's the only time anything ever happens.
So much ignorance in this post. Soccer players are far from "pussies" and their "crying over a stubbed toe" is more like players in the NBA trying to sell a charge or QB in the NFL trying to sell a late hit. Unless you've ever really watched with an open mind you'd really have no idea how physical major competive soccer is.
1) Baseball 2) Football 3) Basketball 4) Rugby- probably would be ahead of basketball if it was on more and if the Knicks weren't so much fun to watch now. I don't really care for college basketball. I flip on a college game and watch for at most :10 before I have to change it. 5) Boxing 6) Hockey- Playoffs are awesome. During the playoffs this bumps to #4. 7) Horse racing 8) Stock car racing- I really don't watch or follow, but it's entertaining for a few minuets at a time. 9) Golf- I feel like this will grow on me as I get old 10) soccer? 1000) tour de france
The Arthur Walker Trophy (look it up) is no doubt incredibly difficult to win, but it doesn't make it any more prestigious or important. Difficulty and prestige are not related.
Except USA and a few other countries, soccer is by far the most popular sports. So much for calling it boring. Also the most popular American sports in overseas is Basketball yet in USA Basketball comes after NFL and MLB Weird weird choice by you Americans. Not judging but pointing out a fact.
A lot of things are different in the US. The metric system, politics, Farenheit instead of celsius, spelling of English words, etc.
I enjoy watching soccer but not the MLS. Also enjoy cricket, the new twenty20 cricket is great making the game faster, but test matches are still great. I like baseball, I just don't like it outside my Yankees. And I despise that the AS game counts for something.
