Has anyone seen any columns by Mike Lupica since the big layoffs at the Daily News? I didn't see his normal Sunday column today, and I don't think it appeared last week. Does anyone know if he's still with the Daily News? Yes, like Peter King, he injected too much politics into his columns. but I always enjoyed the smart-ass zingers that made up the second half of his Sunday columns.
69 I realize many people might like or read him,,,,but as far as I am concerned I have always thought him to be a J.O. in fact I might dislike him more than Manish and thats saying a lot.Guy has always been a front runner and I hated him on the radio and was glad when he got the axe. Don't get me wrong the guy has writing skills but if he is gone It won't bother me in the least. PS to answer your question I have no idea what happened to him
I just like the smart-ass zingers at the end of his Sunday column. That's pretty much all that I would read. I'm curious because he is/was the Daily News' big-name columnist, and if he's gone, the Daily News is on its death bed.
Matt his Billy Martin stuff,,,,and so much more. You know I'm an Islander fan, I don't know if your remember back in the day how he was sucking up to Trottier ,Bossy , Tonelli, and the rest,,,,,he wrote fluff pieces all the time,,,I hated him even back then
CBG, I never liked him always thought he was smarter than anyone and made a career of making fun of the best manager in baseball history
Another Sunday, and Lupica is still MIA. I can't find anything on-line saying he was laid-off or otherwise left the News. Oh, well, check out their sports section. There's nothing there.
Well, it looks like he did leave the Daily News. Geez, last one out, turn off the lights. https://nypost.com/2018/08/16/the-daily-news-loses-its-most-well-known-writer/
