Fumbles can be fixed. Lots of QBs come into the league fumbling. Its him trying to make plays when he should give up on them and from holding the ball in one hand, low. Its an easy fix. I think an excessive number of INTs is harder to correct
I will say this: I would not trade up with the Giants for Darnold. Rosen is definitely good enough at #3. I don't want to waste more draft picks to secure Darnold.
Does not happen at all...Giants WANT the Jets to do this, because they can get some more picks and just pick Barkley. But the Jets I think are set in their ways now.
I like this post. This is the one potential dilemma that I'm fence-sitting on. My gut says Rosen but more football people say Darnold and that him slipping would be a huge win for the Jets. Regarding Rosen.... I just don't buy into injury history for a QB, even concussions. They all have them. People are treating Rosen's 2 concussions and shoulder injury as if he's a skill position player that has had multiple ACL tears in college. Aaron Rodgers is coming off a shoulder injury....do any of us doubt his ability to improve the chances of the Packers being a SB candidate each of the next five years? He's also knocked because they say he's immobile, a pure pocket passer. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are/were statues, and they're considered two of the best. If he achieved his stats by being mobile, then I consider that a red flag since the pass rushers in the NFL will be a lot faster than the pass rushers in college. Darnold may try to do what he did in college and find himself constantly getting sacked. In my eyes, Rosen has a much higher floor than the other QBs, and the same ceiling as Darnold.
Okay, who is Darnold's "ceiling" comparison? Big Ben? I see Rosen's ceiling as P. Manning. Who is higher than that?
I'd say ceiling is Darnold-Peyton Manning, Rosen-Aaron Rodgers So pretty great ceilings. Darnold is young, no injury concerns, no character concerns, that should be enough to rank him over Rosen. Factor in his on the field play is better, it is a no brainer to me. We all evaluate QB's differently though. That is why some have Darnold 1, some have Rosen 1, some have Allen 1, and the Browns have Baker 1.
If we take Rosen over Darnold I will be crushed If we take Rosen over Allen I will be pissed If we take Rosen over Darnold and Allen I will have a mental breakdown If we end up with Mayfield I’m on suicide watch If we get Darnold or Allen I will be thrilled. I like Darnold better but not by a ton. If we curveball and get Chubb or Barkley I’ll be happy Think that covers it?
Rosen has an arm like Rodgers, not as big but close...He is not mobile as Rodgers though. He does remind me like a mix of dudes as his ceiling, Matt Ryan, Rich Gannon, Eli Manning Darnold has the Andrew Luck ability in him, his ceiling is alot like Luck/Steve Young/Wentz
I don't see Rosen's ceiling as Manning because one of Manning's biggest qualities was his durability. I don't see Rosen starting 200 games in a row. I see him as a stronger armed Matt Ryan.
I like the Rogers/Rosen comparison--his arm is not as big and he's not nearly as athletic but I can see the comparison. Actually a better comparison is Jared Goff and I think he's way better than Goff. Same frame, same arm, same mobility but Rosen is just better.
To me, Darnold will ultimately be the more complete QB of the two. More athletic, more durable, bigger frame, much better escabability, his throws rolling right or left are gorgeous and I've seen him throw into tighter windows than Rosen. Doesn't look like anything bothers him--kind of like Eli but less of a goober.
Have you considered that maybe Rosen doesn't have to throw into tight windows so often because he's much better at reading defenses and has better timing?
I finally found it guys...The moment that led to the eventual trade up to #3...We were still at #6 at this moment.
