its a huge offseason and i fear that we will be eating shit for another 3 years after it. and then we will rinse and repeat a fucking gain.
If the best MacCagnan can do at QB for the Jets this offseason is Kirk Cousins he's a gutless coward with no vision, no imagination.
If he's too afraid to roll the dice on another QB in the draft this draft which is supposedly one of the deepest QB drafts in history because of his two previous megabusts he's a gutless coward ... If he's too afraid to call the Indianapolis GM to inquire about a trade for Andrew Luck he's a gutless coward ... If he can't imagine signing Brees to a short term deal AND drafting a QB in round 1 then he has no vision, no imagination. Kirk Cousins would be the 'safe' move to make but this off season, which could bring a unprecedented number of QB options both veterans & rookies both short & long term, screams for a bold masterstroke.
This off season will be Macc's biggest test for sure. Last time he had money, the Jets became good temporarily but it didn't last. At this point, I view him in the middle of the road (with a tractor trailer heading his way). He's had some good picks and some bad picks... some good signings and some bad signings. Many things still yet to be determined. Not all the bad things were his fault. In Macc's first couple years, they were a win now team, rather than a rebuilding one. Year 2 of the rebuild will define what he's all about based on draft position and salary cap room. If he misses on drafting a 1st round QB, or signs one that becomes a disaster, he will be gone. QB needs to be priority #1, which hopefully means drafting and signing one to compete. It will be interesting to see how he handles the Wilkerson situation as well.
