We got a barn burner Goin on here. With that field goal they're only down 28 Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
This morning someone on ESPN radio said about tonight's game "This should be a good one." I replied (to the radio) "Why?". Still awaiting an answer.
Although the fact that Janoris Jenkins is making any money as an NFL player makes him vastly overpaid too ...
Holy shit. Are there people out there that really listen to Lil Yachtzee? And think he’s good? That was one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard.
So they have the announcers doing a completely lame Old Spice commercial during the broadcast. Pathetic.
What the hell are the Giants doing? They get a touchdown to make the score 20-12 and then they go for two? That is insane.
They're right. MAYBE you do that on the next touchdown, when it's 20-19. Doing it now is completely insane.
If you're going to go for 2 at some point, isn't it better to do it now? If you go for 2 down 20-19 and don't get it it's game over. Whereas if you go for 2 now, you can still save yourself by going for 2 down 20-18.
You essentially get 2 shots at 2 point. If you get it the first time, you win. If you don’t, you tie on the next chance. You essentially get one more offensive play to make it happen. It would be crazy if you weren’t a super shitty team with your whole season on the line.
But now they have no chance to win the game before overtime. If you wait you have the flexibility to choose whether you want to go to overtime or go for the win. If you go for two early you'd better be damn sure that you make it, and the Giants offense isn't remotely close to good enough to be sure about it.
Say the probability of making a 2 point conversion is 50% and the probability of making an extra point is 100% (the probability values don't really matter). If you go for 2 down 20-19, 50% of the time you win and 50% of the time you lose. If you go for 2 down 20-12 (we're assuming you ultimately get the second touchdown), 50% of the time you win and 50% of the time you give yourself a 50% chance of overtime.
