Lions waive 2015 second-round pick Ameer Abdullah The Detroit Lions are waiving running back Ameer Abdullah, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. He’s been mostly inactive this season. Abdullah was the 54th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Personally i always liked the kid. he's had fumble issues which is why he hasn't played as much but he's a very similar back to powell but more shifty. I'd like to bring him in
Meh, I’d rather run with Crowell,McGuire and Cannon. Running back isn’t really a problem and I don’t think he upgrades it .
i'm not sold on crowell though and he may be gone after this year. outside of his 1 record setting game he's been largely awful and if he can't get to the 2nd level untouched he's useless. he takes forever to get a head of steam going
So give more touches to the other 2 but don’t bury them further down the chart. There will be better options next year to upgrade the position. Cough bell cough
yeah but a waiver claim this year doens't hurt much as a tryout. we don't lose anything by claiming him. and we have powell on IR so basically he replace powell. it doens't seem the jets trust cannon yet and i'm tired of watching crowell run and maguire can't get 30 carries a game alone. i'd run with maguire and abdullah but i'd be happy to see cannon get more reps if we don't claim abdullah as well. i'm just tired of watching crowell
Having Sam and a vet like McCown allows the Jets to take their time with Hackenberg. SIGN THE BEAST! He will be ready to roll by 2030.
Is he the second coming of Barry Sanders? If not, stay away. He's not getting his head out of his ass behind this sorry excuse they call OL.
I can't say that Abdullah moves the needle but that being said he does have talent and that is something we lack at wr and rb. If you told me we signed him to see what he could do I'd do it. Maybe we get lucky and he becomes a player. Worse case we cut him. Much like CJ Spiller last year. Played a week or two with us and then we cut him. On the same idea I'd take a flier on Irvin too. Can only help and if he doesn't same thing we cut him. We have the money to do it this year too.
I never even heard of this guy. Does that make me a bad person? Speaking of Long, though, he did answer honestly when asked if the problem is mental or physical. He said it's both. Yeesh, he pretty much admitted that he's psychologically wounded at this point. Wonderful. Didn't the Jets hand him a big chunk of change, something to the tune of $24 mil over four years? Can the Jets kick him in his ass without too much collateral damage? I admit my ignorance on this.
The Have Hennessy as their LS but I prefer they pick up Courvoisier off waivers, he's a real Ladies man.
