Athelstan ain't going nowhere. Although it's in character for Floki to despise him, he signifies the god of their enemy, and Floki is as devout at it gets for Vikings.
Just watched all two seasons in one go over the past couple of weeks. It has fast become my new favourite show. Is it bad that every time I see Floki, my mind thinks of Abyzmul because of these forums? DAMNIT MIND.
Anyone still watching this? It is still going strong, excellent episodes this season. Anyone that has not watched it but wants a cliffs notes version can watch "Althestan's Journal" which just aired. I would suggest watching all the seasons though, it beats out most every show on the air right now.
It was strange how they went right from Floki killing him to Ragnar carrying him up to bury him. I was fast forwarding through commercials after he killed him and thought I went too far at first. Guess they will cover the fall out from it next episode. Unless Floki sells Ragnar on it being a sign from the gods.
I think they are giving too much foreshadowing about him dying for it to actually happen. Then again they did include the scene back in Kattegat with the Christian being ordered killed right at the same time Ragnar is getting baptized. I don't think they are ready to end the series so I doubt it happens. I am unsure if Ragnar ends up sticking with the deal and taking the gold and silver or if he changes his mind and attacks again.
Pretty tight finale. Good season. Usually shows will have some episodes or parts where I get bored and struggle to sit through but have never felt that with this show. If you already know viking legends you can see some scenes coming from a mile away but that's cool they're working those into the show.
WOW the last 3 episodes were fantastic...This was sitting on my DVR. Man once Floki did what he did I took a break from watching. But binge watched last night. The battle on France was EPIC television. I like Ragnar alot and man am I glad with what they did there, totally caught me off guard. Still...The guy playing Ragnar is getting more and more fame. He will be in Warcraft the film (supposed to be the next hope of LOTR films) but he is so essential to the story. In Viking history, Bjorn was the greatest conqueror of them all I believe
I agree, he's such a good actor and he makes the show. My only gripe is I wish they showed them ransacking and pillaging through Paris. Bjorn Ironsides was actually the one who jumped out of the coffin IRL. They thought they were attacking Rome but it was actually just some smaller walled city. They couldn't get in so they brought Bjorn to the gates in a coffin and asked them to bury him. When the Christians brought him inside he jumped out and fought his way to the gates and opened them.
Curious to see where they take the show this season. France repercussions. We prob will get Rolo vs Ragnar again
