Lions | D. Henderson gives S. Rogers an earful, Rogers learns lesson
    Fri, 14 Apr 2006 19:52:53 -0700

Drew Sharp, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson gave DL Shaun Rogers and earful Wednesday, April 12, for being lazy during a pursuit drill among defensive lineman. Rogers was the best performer the next day during that same drill.

    Wish he was still here.

That's pretty dumb, though. Rogers is a beast and probably the best draft pick Detroit has made in a decade.

How is it dumb to motivate a player who is not performing to his ability?

    So he could suck again?

He's real good short-term, but it seems the act wears off rather quickly. This is not the 1940s anymore. It's hard to be a drill sergeant with NFL players in this age.

Especially when the HC doesn't give a shit and the player know it. Hard to blame last year on Donnie. When the guy at the top doesn't care if you work or not nobody is going to take shit from a tough subordinate.
