Going to see Valerian today at 1pm. Hopefully it lives up to the hype. Looking forward to heavy CGI and a decent plot. Setting the bar fairly low. :)

I think you guys will like it. Nice way to start a superheroine origin. Movie was entertaining and not a lot of slow spots.

We always wait till movies are out for a couple of weeks before we go, We hate being in theaters with big crowds.

    Enjoy your movie.

That was the movie we should have went to see...

"Valerian" was..... meh. Great CGI, predictable story line, not the best acting. Outside of CGI, there won't be any awards for this one. If you do see this, see it in 3D and get the most out of the visual experience. It was a bit of a mashup of Avatar, Star Wars (Revenge of the Sith), Jupiter Ascending and Tron legacy as you will notice a few things borrowed from all of those movies. All 14 of us in the theater were quite happy leaving before the credits began.

If you're a CGI nut, this is your movie. Otherwise, d/l or wait for the BD.

We loved WW, Gadot was perfect, a little too much with philosophical view of humans but overall WE liked it a lot.

Sorry your movie was a let down.

You and me both... Well, this week I'll burn some of my 70K Regal points and go see Dunkirk or Spiderman.

Saw WW last night - thought it was really well done and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Was a nice bounce back for DC IMO after Suicide Squad and B vs S.

Next on the list is War -- Huge POA fan as kid and while I did not love Rise or Dawn I still enjoyed both and this is getting better reviews than either of them.

I know that I'll probably get killed for this, but did anyone besides me think that 'Kong: Skull Island' bit the big one? I felt like I was watching a crappy version of 'Apocalypse Now' with a big monkey in it along with a derivative soundtrack. The best acting in the whole flick was the giant musk ox. I didn't care about anyone in this movie at all. OK, I hated it.

Just saw Wonder Woman, first movie in the theater in a long time for me, bonus is the cheap theater took out the old seats and installed electric recliners, for $3 I just might be going to the movies more often. Anyway back to the movie, thought it was a pretty good movie, entertaining and not many slow spots.

As far as Kong, got it at Redbox with a code for a free movie, so no cost which always makes my expectations much lower. Thought it was entertaining but thought the plot was thin. And where did all those helicopters come from, saw 4 on the ship and then they started flying there were 500 of them. I think this was the first movie I ever wanted Samuel L Jackson to get killed. Thought the Skull Fuckers looked stupid also.

Is there some secret code here? I didn't see a movie mentioned that was a remake, which are you talking about? I know Kong was done a dozen or more times but didn't think you were talking about that.

On a related note, I did not know there was a King Kong silent movie, learn something new every day.

I thought it was entertaining. Story was far from groundbreaking, but it was a fun movie that I think played better in theater than it would on a TV.
