Why are people even looking at this as a Sheldon for Kearse trade?.... Kearse is nothing more than a piece that tipped the scales in negotiations. Can we stop and give Mac a golf clap for this one. Yes he waited until the last minute and everyone has been trashimg him for months thinking this wouldn't happen. But it did and I would say he got the maximum amount of value out of it. Most of us were hoping for a 4th rounder or would settle for a 5th. To end up with a 2nd or 3rd and a WR that we certainly can use... I'LL TAKE IT!
We should have just kept Sheldon while going 1-15 and got nothing for him at the end of the season...SOJ!
It's a conditional 2nd or 3rd round pick. With the Jets history of 2nd round busts, we'd probably be better off with a third rounder.
For sure, the Preseason Hall of Fame awaits big Shelden. Brett Ratliff has his green jacket ready for enshrinement.
So you would rather they keep him around this season while the team loses 12-14 games, then lose him and get nothing after the season?
Sheldon is probably smoking a blunt while he's on his way to Seattle and will suspended for a year..and we got a 2nd or 3rd for him? I thought a 4th or 5th was a long shot.
Frankly, this comment is ridiculous and shows a lack of trade vale on your part. Its a very good trade for both teams and we get rid of a guy who has shown a tendency to be a problem off the field, in the locker room and also with his mouth.
Not sure about the blunt. But he said he would drive out there. Faster than flying when he's behind the wheel
He had a great pre season. THat's classic. So keep Sheldon, give him a big contract, then resign Leo and 1/2 of our cap would be for 3 DT. THere is no downside, I dont care if Sheldon is the mvp and wins a super bowl. Plus I always liked him so glad he has a chance to win a super bowl. I thought all the off the field stuff was normal young and rich kid stuff. Seemed like a down to earth dude and called out the selfish self promoting WR who did not play hard in 2016.
Exactly. This season is a mulligan. No chance of winning. This was a pretty damn good trade. With this franchises history, I'm shocked we didn't trade him for an 8th round draft pick, and a bag of footballs.
Exactly. The long term ramifications would be Sheldon vs Big Cat if he wasn't traded. That's a decision that would have needed to be made bidding against all the other teams in Sheldon's case, driving up the price to it's highest. OR, invest in what we know about Big Cat and get him inked up prior to his 5th year option expiring. Based on what I know in only 2 years of Big Cat on and off the field... give me Big Cat allllllllllllllllllllllllll daaaaaaaaaaayyyyy! We are going to be bad this year, there is no doubt in my mind. Lots of growing pains and trying to figure out an identity on offense. However, knowing the future of our defense is going to be lead by the likes of Big Cat and Adams, how can you not be excited for what the future could hold?!
maybe people will stop trashing mac now? he got us a good WR which was a huge need plus a 2nd or 3rd rounder. and we don't have to worry about the cap room or franchising him and trying to get something next year. all i know if wilk sucks though and richardson kills it in seattle i'm sure a lot fo us will be pissed, but as of now, it does look like he got great value
Kearse isn't good, he makes some wild catches but follows them up with drops. The pick was great value considering the circumstance, kudos to Mac on that. Let's see what he does with that pick.
Great deal. The 2nd round pick will help tremendously. Kearse is just a toss in, likely makes Jalin Marshall expendable. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I'll give credit where credit is due and this trade deserves credit. However I won't stop trashing Mac until he gets us a QB, 3 years in we are no closer to having one and he just might be another Jets GM that has passed on a great one.
And looks like the 2nd is locked in so he can smoke all he wants, no need to worry about the pick being conditional.
