Texas now has room for Profar, and Detroit can now move to Miggy back to first, where he belongs.

He was pretty good the last two years, but not as good as in Milwaukee. And of course he has been just awful in the postseason for Detroit.

His power has declined significantly, aided by the switch in ballparks.

And yes, he's been the primary culprit for Detroit's postseason hitting woes.

It's addition by subtraction for the Rangers. They needed to move a middle infielder and I was hoping it would be Kinsler. He's two years older than Prince while Profar and Andrus are much younger and still improving. He sealed his fate last winter when he wouldn't move to first base when the team wanted him to. He's had a lot of injuries and he's been in decline the last two seasons, especially running the bases. He's also enamored with hitting homers and he gets in month- long ruts where he uppercuts everything, trying to pull the ball out. I've seen more than my share of pop ups to SS from him in the last few years, and since his power numbers are declining it was time for him to go. He'll be an improvement defensively for the Tigers (which isn't saying much) and has a lot of range but he makes his share of errors.

First base has been a black hole for the Rangers since they traded Teixeira to the Braves in '07. Chris Davis was their great hope and he had an excellent half- season as a rookie in '08 but he could never duplicate that promise even though the Rangers gave him multiple chances. Moreland has been the same as Davis; lots of potential but goes into lengthy slumps where he turns into a strikeout machine. Prince should settle the position down. He rarely misses games and he'll only turn 30 next spring, so if he stays in shape- a big if- they could be set for the next 5 years.
