-NE D is going to SUUUUCK!! -Our Schedule is Soft!!! ....oh wait.... OF COURSE THIS IS THE YEAR WE DECIDE TO START A REBUILD!!! You just can't write this shit... #jetslife
Man David Harris was quite a difference maker out there huh? Definitely justified all the pissing and moaning that went on when he signed there.
I'd be willing to bet my house that WK1 will be the only time this season we are playing a game for 1st in the division.
I'd take that bet. I'll put my car up. If we win week one, Miami doesn't play, we'll be playing for the division in week 2. Actually regardless, we'll be playing for share of the division lead in week two.
I hadnt watched the Chiefs in a while, but I recognized that bend dont break defense from when Bob Sutton was D coordinator for the Jets (Mangini era.) Once the Jets are out of the running I think I'll be pulling for the Chiefs. And the pressure is on for ArDarious Stewart to be productive. Kareem Hunt was taken 7 picks later and looked VERY good.
246 yards from scrimmage. Most by any player since the merger. Decent, I guess, if you're into that....
Yeah the NE Defense isn't going to scare anyone... they either gave up or their best players on the front 7 retired. Guys like Rob Ninkovich, Jamie Collins were guys who could rush the passer and were damn good LB's in coverage. Hightower is basically their best in the front 7 and he's basically just a solid LB. They generated zero pass rush (and this is a team that usually relies on a good front 4 to get pass rush, rarely do they blitz). I like their secondary so they won't be completely bad...but teams that can control the ball with a good run game will have much more success then usual. Plus they aren't as athletic as their past defenses. With that said, they still will win 11-13 games LOL.
Helps to have scouts with a track record of recommending real offensive talent. BTW, that's not the Jets.
