Can't believe it's actually here. So weird, what with the kneeling controversy (no politics) and with the way we fucked up last year not getting the first pick I really was not looking forward to this season. Amazing how lucking into Sam has completely changed my view of the NFL. Yeah, I'm a fraud, I can admit it. Can not wait.
Nice to watch football again. Yes the players are 4th stringers but who cares. Get out of the way Baseball. NFL is back.
The NFL simply replaced the insanity of figuring out what constitutes a catch, with the insanity of judging a clean tackle. Holy fuck this is going to be a nightmare.
Yea. I wouldn't say it's expected, because I did like Jackson as a prospect with an insane skill set of pure talent; but he was awful tonight. Only his 1st chance in a meaningless game, but he was Hackenberg on a practice field level bad. Maybe those pre-draft reports were right. Could be a better runner than passer. Jackson doesn't like the idea himself but his future may be at WR, as Pryor had to make the transition because he is a speed demon. Who knows. Only time will tell. Nonetheless he's got a ways to go before passing Flacco.
When fans overreact from the first preseason game. Gonna take Lamar some time to adjust. Certainly won't know how good he is after the first preseason game.
The only thing I hope for during preseason is the Jets come out of it healthy. Nothing else matters well maybe this year Darnold plays well and gets some confidence but otherwise no injuries.
His physical talent showed, but so did the lack of anticipation that I disliked in him as a prospect. He's on the right team, because he really needs a red shirt year to get the game to slow down for him and for him to make the right reads and not rely on the fact that he's a world class athlete so much. The tools are all there though.
its gonna take him some time, but his upside is too good to pass up on. Teams like the Saints and Steelers will regret it, and especially NE who took a RB in the first round.
Its very much in the realm of possibility, but these teams are reloading for a superbowl run so a first round QB would have been a luxury not adding to the puzzle. Now if you want to look at a team that will be regretting not picking a QB just look across town.
I don't like what the Saints did, trading a future first for a raw pass-rusher, but hopefully it gives Brees that ring, otherwise it was a waste IMO. Brees, Big Ben and Brady might be 1 season away from retiring. Oh we don't even have to talk about the Giants, we already know they screwed up
Yea I was not a big fan of the Saints trade as well. That said all of those teams can easily rationalize that they are close to another ring. I was more surprised that someone like Denver or Miami didnt try to go from early round 2 to late round one to take a shot at him with the 5th year option.
