This fan base is great. They go ballistic when announcers give credit to guys like Brady or Rodgers. But when it comes to Rexy, they will blindly get on their knees for a guy who hasn't accomplished squat. Rex must have some big balls from the amount of jizz dripping off the chins of his blind faithful.
Seriously? Nothing? There were two conference championship games, right? And there was last season where predictions were for two or three wins, right? And all of this was done without an NFL class QB, right? I think there was a cap problem a few of those years and more personnel problems too. Nope, he had some problems with the clock and some penalties but all teams do. We also know he didn't bring home the Lombardi but that's not the same as "hasn't accomplished squat", is it? How about give us your idea of what would have been necessary to show a modicum of success.

damn I'd taken him here as offensive line coach. He did good work in that role under Herm. Would've been great to see Mehta piss and moan about an OL coach hiring too
He'll be a good OL coach... there was a reason he wasn't hired as a head coach and it says a lot about his play calling not to be considered for an OC. I'm glad he chose this job.. for awhile it looked like he thought he was the second coming.

I think Marrone was an option early on before the playoff coordinators became available. He probably would have had to blow Woody away in the interview to get hired. The negative reaction from the press was real and that was probably a factor also. The press really didn't want any chance of getting a control freak clam in here after Rex and Marrone has exhibited some of those tendencies from time to time. Belichick is the all-time control freak clam.
I think the consultants steered woody clear. The consultants wanted Mac, and Mac most likely picked his coach (Bowles)
Which is why the Jags could win today. Marrone blew out Rex by 20+ points the last three times they played.
