From Smizzy: " I don't understand why we would have the first couple rds be normal and then go snake draft. My team finished 7-6 last season and I GOT lucky in the playoffs. Anybody who thinks I had the best team or have the best team right now is stupid. I am keeping 4 players....why should I have to pick at the end of the first couple rds and then be lucky enough to benifit from a serpentine draft when it's no longer benficial? So beacuse I won this league...with 4 or 5 other teams with better teams and who are keeping MORE players than me pick before me? It's just silly and other than Scots wanting a better pick....I don't see why it would be half and half. DYnasty league drafts go normal NFL draft...not keeper leagues" He wants a total snake draft.
If ESPN doesn't let me change the draft setup for the first 7 rounds, we might hold another offline draft(only to get everyone to 7). I'm just letting you know now.
Anyone complaining about anything... My keepers, and yes they were the best I could keep unless I kept defenders. Michael Vick - Just shoot me Lamont Jordan - Raiders will be horrible Hines Ward - Turns 51 in August Mike Nugent - Kicker Yet I still pick in the middle of every round when I clearly must have one of the very worst teams. I will not complain with standard or snake though.
The way it is now is OK. I was the 2nd worst team last year, but my first pick is 8th overall, thereafter 19th then 46th. What advantage do I get? The champion has the 6th overall pick, then 17th then 31st & 32nd. So after 32 picks he'll have his 4 keepers and 4 of the best available new players. I'll have 5 keepers and two new guys and not be picking again for another 14 slots. I hardly think this system favours me, or any of the other poor teams. A snake from the start screws us though.
Just an FYI - ESPN will start later this year with the 2007 opening in Mid-July. So this might push the draft into August but hopefully we can have the draft before the 1st preseason game.
if that is your argument then you should have only kept 4 players, because in theory a team with more keepers has a much bigger advantage if all the keepers are worth keeping because you are guaranteeing your 5 players while who knows what is available in a draft
He should stop his crying i came in 2nd and got the 2nd to last pic and i am not crying about it. :drunk:
True, but 4 keepers + 4 draftees is still likely to be stronger than 5 keepers and 2 draftees. Maybe it's a wash. Either way, I'm not significantly advantaged, which was my argument.
What stuff? Keepers are marked. Anyone want to trade me their first round pick for next year in exchange for my second round pick this year?
Does first round pick mean first pick not a keeper or 7th round pick being that the first 6 rounds can be used for keepers?
8th round pick is the 1st non keeper round(meaning you pick players if you don't have 7 while others do). But why are you asking this for? You can't trade the first 7 picks.
