I talked to this with Jam some time ago but... ehm... I guess he's not around anymore! Anyways... how about having a nice TGG hall of fame for Jets players beloved by this message board? Every year we elect the best player on O and D of the season.

We can also have a regular hall of fame where every year we elect 2 guys that have played for the Jets and have been great for the team.

Didn't know we had an ex-jet player on this board! would you be ok with only recieving a page on TGG with your name, picture and accoplishments as a Jet?

I'm afraid peanut butter is hard to find over-seas...

Big Blue Interactive, the primary Giants message board that still runs on an absolutely hideous archaic system, gives out an annual MVP award.

They're a big enough board that they buy an actual trophy every year, then that player almost immediately gets hurt. According to my Giants fan friends, the BBI curse blows the Madden curse away.

We can do just the hall of fame for retired players... and make them undraftable in the Death Pool to even out the bad mojo...

I like the idea. We could also do a TGG All-Time team or something like that.

Yeah that would be cool! Although some knoledgeable posters should probably present the most important players in Jets history to those who haven't seen them play.

I vote Brian Schottenheimer for the first inductee.

    http://www.bigblueinteractive.com/i...eractivecom-player-of-the-year-award-winners/

    2005 Winner: Tiki Barber
2006: great season, but then retires.

    No award in 06.

    2007 winner: Plaxico Burress
2008: 454 yards in 10 injury riddled games. His worst season. Shoots himself in the offseason.

    2008 winner: Brandon Jacobs
2009: 5.0 YPC to 3.7, 15TD to 5. His worst season (until this one)

    2009 Winner: Steve Smith
2010: Battles injury all year, goes from 1200yds to 500. His worst season (until this one)

    2010 Winner: Rich Seubert
    2011: Cut before training camp

Yeah, I'd say they've had a bad run.

How many Giants players get injured every year though? They get at least twice the injuries we get. This year they have 14 players on IR and we have 6.

I actually thought, the first time I saw them mentioned here, that the TGG Awards were along these lines. I thought us TGG members would select the Jets MVP, rookie of the year, special teams player of the year, etc. Then I made a couple clicks and found the TGG awards were for voting for funniest TGG member, most argumentative, etc. Well, anyway, I like the idea of us voting for Jets players of the year.

I really like this idea, but I think it might be even cooler to have the TGG MVP award be more of a fan favorite award then anything else.

Its pretty gay to give out a defensive MVP award, as most of the time it will probably be Revis. IMO it would be cool to give the award to a player that only Jets fans would really know about or maybe a role player of sorts.

A player that would never make the Hall of fame or even the Jets RING of honor.

Like for instance last season it would be Jerricho Cotchery.

Just a thought. (It would be a nice way to commemorate players that aren't on the Jets anymore as well.)

I like this idea too. The first induction should cover every season TGG has been up for retroactively, too.

I like this as well and also adding a stipulation that just like the real HOF players should be retired at least 5 years but because we only have a few elite players we limit it to one offensive and one defensive player a year. We could create a list of nominees and then have the board vote on it.

Sooo... I'm guessing now would be the best time to do this? Give people something positive to do while they bitch about the end of the season?

Hee hee, it should be up soon. I like the idea of doing a GG all time team as well. That would certainly be interesting. Could take us all the way to the draft.

Clearly it should be Eric Smith and Wayne Hunter as everyone's favorite role players.
