We had a thread like this last year where we really got into the nitty gritty and dissected film of Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, and Darnold. It got heated, but it was a ton of fun.

My guess is that people would enjoy doing the same thing leading up to this years draft, but with the pass rushers this time. We obviously can't be certain that the Jets draft a pass rusher, but this seems like the way it will go.

Anyways, have at it. Bring your film and let's break down some of these EDGE prospects!

Welp...after looking at some film (I still plan to do more), Josh Allen’s initial burst and jump is very, very impressive. When you combine his initial burst with his size/speed you have the making of a tremendous speed rushing 3-4 OLB.

I think that he needs to pack on just a little more muscle onto his frame. I am not saying that he isn’t strong, but he needs to have additional strength to bull rush as a counter rush move. A lot of the great speed rushing OLBs will speed rush 3-4 snaps in a row and then randomly pull out a bull rush and throw the Lineman off.

I would say in terms of a Scheme fit/need, Josh Allen is my early favorite player. I want him on the Jets more than I want Bosa.

I am not expert at this by any means, but how was he .2 seconds slower than Montez Sweat who ran a 4.4? I know that straight-line runs in shorts isnt an great indicator of speed, but I was expecting Allen to be a bit faster than his 40.

10 yd split was Sweat 1.55, Bosa 1.60, and Allen 1.61 from what I read. 10 yd split is much more important than 40 time.

I didn't watch the videos you posted, but one thing that has stood out on the tape I watched is that he lines up on both sides. I'm sure other guys do it, but I think that shows he has versatility, which is good.

Brian Burns also lines up on both sides and plays in multiple fronts including some limited zone coverage. If we trade back he's a guy to think about. The phusical traits like first step and bend are great but he needs to fill out his frame.

He can drop back into coverage, a plus when covering NE TE's like Gronk or whomever replaces him.

Would rather they only drop him into coverage every once in a while. His best ability is to get after the QB. Let Adams cover Gronk

You are right though. Allen would be good in a Dog Blitzes. Either covering TE if he leaks out or blitzing if he stays in to block.

I prefer to watch games as opposed to highlight clips. Allen’s tape against Mississippi State is fantastic.

Errr...after 3 minutes of watching MSU destroying that KU D I stopped

Josh A had one disruption in like 16 plays

He's supposed to be good? ...oops

I pray we get our best pass rushers inFA

Nick Bosa is on another level and he's my choice in case some miracle happens

    Burns is intriguing tho

Keep watching, he makes some great plays in the 2nd half. He's a very disruptive pass rusher, even when he doesn't get there in time. Plus he broke up at least 1 pass in coverage in that game, which is pretty unusual for an elite pass rusher.

Remember QB hits are just sacks you were late for

Its past 3 mins in before MSU scores, so I'm not sure what game you were watching but they hardly destroyed them. Allen also showed both great pass rushing and drops into coverage in that time. If you watch this and think he is bad, don't bother watching NCAA games or commenting on prospects. You obviously have no clue what your taking about.

Also, this defense that got "destroyed" … gave up 7 points. quit trolling

I have watched both Allen and Bosa ..Like I posted before ...Allen is head and shoulders BELOW Bosa

You are entitled to your opinion how great you think J Allen is ...but Iam a bit more cautious when making a decision

MSU QB had all day to throw the ball...can you imagine what Tommy from NE will do ??

The Jets may be stuck at 3 with no trade partner that's the only reason we have this discussion...

Presumably we get a pass rusher to pressure disrupt and sack the QB..right??

"He showed great pass rushing "? I saw the MSU QB hurry a throw once..I saw Allen pursue and tackle well

Personally from what I have seen I like the kid Burns better
