Wow I just realized this was the last week of the regular season. So the only way for me to make the playoffs is to win this game, have you lose and make up 46 points in the standings? Playoff teams look to be: 1. MSUJet (10-3) 2. Red Rovers (11-2) 3. Renegades (10-3) 4. Hellcats (7-6) 5. Jets (8-5) 6. Mean Machine (8-5) I assume all the division champs advance to the playoffs even though the entire Testaverde Division is awful.
I need a huge game from Wes Welker to take the Division. On the bright side, I'm only 0.5 points behind the maximum achievable from this roster, this week.
Nailed it. Red Rovers, Mean Machine, & the Hellcats win their divisions. Red Rovers & Renegades get the byes. 1st round games #3 Mean Machine vs. #6 Mile High Jets #4 LA Hellcats vs. #5 MSUJet Trophies to be handed out later today.
I was on my way to making my comeback. My team was all starters with no depth and losing Stephen Jackson and Javon Walker killed my season. I found a hidden gem in Ryan Grant who kept me afloat towards the end but virtual no shows by my first draft pick, DeAngelo Williams, and one of my keepers, Steve Smith, submarined any thought of recouping the losses. As far as Williams goes, I could have had DeShaun Foster two rounds later!
My only suggestion is to keep smaller divisions rather than 2 large divisions if we end up losing members. It's fun having multiple competing divisions... gives it more of a football feel.
We'll see pending how many we get. I'm trying to keep the divisions even so scheduling is easier. 16 teams = 4 divisions 15 teams = 3 divisions(if this happens, I hope for a 14 week season with 2 weeks of playoffs) 14 teams = 2, 3, or 4 divisions since everyone plays everyone else.
I'd like to hope to keep it at 16 teams but it all depends on getting dedicated members. I like the way no team is "loaded." It really comes down to smart drafting and smart keepers. The lower the teams, the less it becomes a keeper league because more great players will be available in the draft, you won't have to focus on building year after year. Of course the terrible teams might feel differently.
I'm trying but there always seem to be that one guy who always quit for no reason. I got 15 dedicated owners(plus me) and 1 revolving door. If someone can get me a person who's willing to take over for Mantana(Iscrap) next year and actually last the entire year I'll keep it at 16. Draft order will most likely be based on regular season records since I didn't see any blatant tanking this year. Last 6 picks will be based on playoff performance just like the NFL. Great thing about this league is the defensive players forces you to really think about who you keep and who you draft. It adds a whole other level of strategy to the game. A great offense doesn't equal an automatic playoff birth if you don't have a decent defense to go along with it.
Bit pissed off here so I'll be brief. #3 Mean Machine vs. #6 Mile High Jets <- Winner #4 LA Hellcats vs. #5 MSUJet - still close
Looks that way, but you and I both know that it's not over until Brees plays - he's easily capable of closing that gap. What is it? 50 points or so?
