Be careful with your eyes, all, wherever you may be. I took some photos of the last Lunar Eclipse that we had in a favorite field of mine. It was really beautiful, but the pics don't translate. Strawberry Moons are way cool, too. We got screwed here the last time Halley's Comet showed up because it was cloudy. Damn it. I was really disappointed. I love being in a remote place where there isn't that much light pollution. You see shooting stars like crazy (which actually aren't stars at all). I always thought there was something a little sad about them, I can't rightly say why, but they are lovely to see. Anyway, I guess I'll be playing 'Astronomy' by BOC on August 21st for the fun factor.

EDIT: Nevermind I noticed in the second post how it will look from this area. Really cool, we'll get a partial eclipse up here.

About 86% down here and starts in about 4 minutes, will take quite a while to get to 86%, guess I'll go lay in the hammock to watch it.

    She Blinded Me With Science

Of course with maximum coverage down here at 2:48, the sun goes behind thick cloud cover at 2:44 and looks like it will be there for quite some time. I'll have to see how good the pics I did get came out once I can see again.

Total cloud cover in some states in the path. Illinois got screwed, but it was cool to see total blackness for two seconds. In KS, people started praying to something as pagan as the day is long. Pun intended. Some Sun/Son God guy, I don't know. As if mankind will ever change. Mankind. What an oxymoron while I'm at it.

About half the students at the elementary school closest to me decided to take the day off. Knowing the families that go there I am more inclined to believe they were most in church praying for Satan to return the sun. Maybe 10% of the parents kept their kids out to teach them about the science behind the eclipse. Being the sun returned, the holy rollers will praise Jesus, their praying worked.

Haha, Holy Crap. I didn't mean to derail this, but yeah, Mr. White, yeah, Science!

It was good. Saw some dolphins, a whale, and an Osprey. I had the special glasses so I was in with the topless chick too. That was excellent

It was interesting. At least it got me out of having to sit in front of my desk doing nothing.
