The Eagles could go after C Kevin Mawae.
Mawae is likely to be traded or released by the Jets in the next couple days. If the Eagles were to acquire him, oft-injured Hank Fraley would be shown the door. Mar. 1 - 11:10 am et

    From Newsday today:
"The ex-Pro Bowler (Mawae) is 35 years-old and has been given permission to seek a trade by the club. With his cap number standing at roughly $4.5 million, it's very likely he won't be a Jet next season."

    Damn!!

Fined heavily and lose draft picks. It happened to Denver a few years ago.

FYI - Mawae's agent will be on 1050 w/ Stephen A. Smith in about 5-10 minutes.

Mawae's agent is on 1050 right now and he just said the Jets plan to cut him. What? No trade?

    Even Steven A. said "what?!"

They sounded so shocked that the agent said that. Did they actually think Mawae was going to be back? :rofl2:

No one is giving anything for him. The whole league knows that most of the teams will be cutting big names and that they will be able to get these guys for free.

I think there are about 10 or 12 teams in worse salary cap shape than the Jets. Then again, that's only after we made our cuts. We have to let Mawae go at this point for money reasons. But losing all these guys, maybe we should just play 6 o-lineman every down!

And remembah! It's mii howss. but you welcome anytiime.

I like Brandon Tierney (sp?). he is a true gang greener as well. Anyway, I obviously would be very disappointed if they cut Mawae, I understand that it is business and I am disappointed that he didnt restructure as well, but if he is gone Nick Mangold is a necessity with our 2nd rounder if he is still on the board.

With 3 new OL in 2006, I see bad things for Curtis, Houston and whoever the QB is. I think we could kill a rookie (Cutler, Young, Leinart...) if we stick them back there. The Jets are not going to be an attractive franchise for any offensive skill player for the next year or 2.
