I'm sorry that's one of the dumbest comments I've ever heard...he had six carries the entire game, SIX!
This decision completely baffled me. Bowles said they were playing matchups so they had Ridley out there for the passing situations HOWEVER they gave Ridley the ball in those situations. I am not sure if Bowles is covering up something with Ivory. Man we missed Powell
He was healthy enough to bust a 50 yard run. Disappointing/infuriating they couldn't give him more than 6 carries after he showed so well when he did get it
We all know that you play this game as if you have 8 months to rest afterward--this is total bullshit and seems inexplicable
Its a good thing RB's dont mean much to most fans. Pretty glaring how badly we missed him and Powell out there today. People can blame Fitz all they want, obviously he didnt play well. But when your offense becomes so one dimensional that the defense pretty much knows whats coming , its a little hard to be successful if your a QB that isnt name Brady or Rodgers.
He's an unrestricted free agent this coming season. Guess they were trying to protect his signing value? It's baffling. If he was hurt - say he was hurt. To claim he and Ridley are essentially the same is sh*t that should earn someone a drug test.
And he'll go on a team that actually appreciates him. Same with Powell. What a joke, he needed rest? Yeah that's why you throw in there on a meaningless last half run in the 2nd quarter when you conceded going for any points. Yeah if he was so valuable you'd have Ridley or Bohanon do that.
Even if he had 20 carries, what are you resting him for exactly? The playoff game we're not playing now?
Ivory has been banged up all season. What's the first thing he does when he gets up after a carry? He looks down at his legs and feet. That's what you do when you can't feel very much down there because they put a needle in you so you can go. You don't know if you just re-pulled the hamstring unless you fall down and can't get up. You don't know if you damaged a knee or an ankle unless you can't walk properly. With some knee and ankle injuries you can walk properly for a step or two until the thing just falls apart on you, like a MCL tear that only shows up when you put lateral pressure on the leg and it buckles. I've been watching Ivory check out his legs after every carry like 10 games now and wondering when he wouldn't get up after a hit.
If Ivory needed a rest and Powell was hurt the game plan shoulda been to throw on first down not try and Run Ridley.
If anybody needed a rest today, it was the Jets' coaching staff. Expecting to win with such a shoddy game plan shows they really aren't too bright.
