If you go on Baker Mayfields twitter (he's not terribly active, I can't see him having the time) but there is a tweet from a Jets fan asking what number he'll be wearing and can't wait until you're a Jet etc. And he ended up liking it Could mean nothing, but I didnt see him liking a similar tweet from a Browns fan ;-)
Baker has 0 control on who drafts him, so liking a tweet from a Jets fan definitely means nothing and has 0 significance from a draft perspective. It shows he is kind to his fans and wouldn't mind playing the Jets at least.
Baker already said he would love to play in NY for the Giants or Jets, so I would expect him to like that tweet. Neither will take him unless they move back.
I'm hoping it is just noise b/c why would the Jets want to show their hand? I personally wouldn't mind Mayfield but I'll be a little bit disappointed if we pass on Rosen.
Not sure if it is significant or not but Allen just boarded a jet plane. Could mean something. Also darnold was spotted wearing brown shoes, not sure how much to read into that.
He has an agent, he visits these teams. He can make it known where he prefers to go. That may influence things.
The higher he goes the more money he gets so of course he liked that tweet in he doesn't think he's going 1 or 2..and he isn't.
Last year the Jets flat out told Jamal Adams: “if you’re there at 6, we’re taking you” Is it possible they told that to Baker? If he told his family and friends it would explain all the leaks.
On NFL network Bucky Brooks said he fit in so well with the Jets...after that Mayfield has his sights set on green n white hehehehe
It’s funny Baker Mayfield could be the best player or the worst player in the draft. I really love the way he loves the game. The dude is a pure gamer and loves playing football. He is absolutely an accurate passer when a receiver is wide open but can also make tight window throws. He plays big in big games and is a winner. My concerns is that he doesn’t pass the eye test as an nfl pro bowl qb, has a small frame and comes from a spread system. This can lead to turnovers a lot of turnovers. If we draft him I hope he become the second coming of Joe and not Mark!
Unfortunately, now that the window of time is closing teams have to come to a decision..much like how this QB debate on the GG is winding down What this means is Baker could be a target for Cleveland...an even worse scenario than Buffalo trading to 2..sheesh I really want this guy over Rosen the player made from glass or Darnold the intercept man... Lets hope Cleve takes Saquon at one
