This is not a #1 overall pick. Still don't know why people fell for a guy who completed 56% of his passes and does stupid stuff like this. I think it's because Matt Miller is friends with him and covers him with a huge bias. Rosen and Darnold outclass Allen by a wide margin as of now.
Darnold is looking pretty unremarkable against a good Western Michigan defense. Took a hard sack on the 2nd drive, and his been inaccurate since.
His anticipation and field vision are really good. Enjoying the game, it's good to see him against a decent defense and battle back.
Not a fan of either, let's hope another QB steps up that we can get in the later rounds. Unless a Peyton Manning type prospect is there, I am against picking these QBs high. Many successful QBs on successful teams have been mid-late round picks because QB is such a crapshoot.
He had a good first half taking what the defense gave him, but he completely imploded in the 2nd half. Not what you want to see from a qb. Sure, his receiver dropped a td pass, but saw the same lack of vision I saw last year. He'll light it up the rest of the year, but I want to see a qb with a lesser team do decent against a team from a strong conference. Allen didn't show much. Edit to add he was bad against Nebraska too. 7 ints in 2 games. Gave him a pass last time, but not this time.
How about we sticky a thread for each QB at the draft board and sticky it. One thread for Darnold One for Allen One for Rosen One for Falk One for Rdolph One for Stidham @Cman60
I'm surprised at the criticism of these guys here. All we heard about in the run up to last draft was "Wait until 2018, that'll be the year to take a QB!" It's early of course, and some or all these guys may improve a lot and be "all that", but I still firmly believe that Macc made a mistake by not grabbing one of the top QBs last draft, especially given how they've performed on their new pro teams so far.
Watching Stidham now; didn't even know I had the SEC Network. He just threw a deep pass fell right in the WR's bread basket despite tight coverage that was dropped. It was an absolute dime should have been a TD.
It's about to start now so there's been some buzz about Tanner Lee from Nebraska, another name to throw into the hat. And Daniel Jones of Duke throws his second TD of the game.
I'm curious as to why there hasn't been more Lamar Jackson hype? He's a legitimate prospect, a very good one at that. And he's dealing right now.
Many believe he's not a complete passer and will be a WR in the league. Last guy people said didn't pass well enough was Dak Prescott.
Never heard that about Dak; maybe that was said early on. Prescott made HUGE strides between his junior and senior year. After his senior no one questioned if he could be an effective NFL QB.
