Like a lot if us did for Browning Nagle in Atlanta? Easy now. Let's see what this kid can do for four quarters first. I hope he does well. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
IMO the bold is only true when the fear is irrational. When it is a well-founded fear and there is good reason to be apprehensive, then it is a disservice to Sam, the team, and to Jets fans to cavalierly expose him to injury risk needlessly. Sure any player can be injured on any play, but the risks of getting injured for a QB go up exponentially when playing behind a below average OL.
I don't think our offensive line will be as bad as people are making it out to be. We have a top O-line coach in Rick Dennison. Plus Darnold has good QB instincts. Unlike Geno and Sanchez he has a feel for the rush and doesn't just stand there obliviously for 5 seconds while some guy crushed him. Darnold will be getting the ball out quickly. He'll be fine
Then let's revert to the wildcat... Should we have kept Pegleg Teddy? Or go with AARP member McCown under center? Seriously... Sam is the best & only sensible option. He's big and stout, very mobile and is great on roll-outs. He'll be fine. (fingers crossed)
