Fitzpatrick is like a cockroach, you can't kill him. $11 mil, 2 years. What is this now, his 20th team or something?! https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article228058894.html?src=rss
Signed on St. Patrick's Day, no less. Watch the hairiest man alive a/k/a The Human Bigfoot beat us twice, haha.
Ooops, sorry, folks. I didn't see that this had been mentioned in the Tannehill thread. Mods feel free to merge or delete if you see fit. Thanks.
Tanking period seems to be their object. Unfortunately for them, Fitzpatrick will manage to win them a few games more than they're hoping for. 9 lives, close enough. I think this is his 8th stint with a different team. That has to be some kind of record.
Well ..They are definitely looking for a QB now.. Mac should be ready for the phone call requesting a move up from #13 to #3 and see what they offer Fitz has been that Bridge Over Troubled Waters QB for his entire career..LMAO A Harvard guy with millions in his bank account..so what else is new?
Beats me ..but an Offer is an Offer. See what they want to give up...hopefully the Store ahaha Is this years QB class as good as Sam D and Mayfield? Dont think so Are you turning the Giants away if they offer a kings ransom?
When he throws his first pass for the Fins he will become the first QB in NFL history to throw a pass for eight different teams. If he starts 14 games for the Fins he will break Archie Manning's record for the most starts for an NFL QB without making the playoffs (I'm assuming the Fins aren't going to make it).
Well, I guess it's safe to say that Fitzpatrick didn't pay his way into Harvard (see recent Ivy League.scandal) if his perfect Wonderlic score is any indication. He also scored 1,580 out of 1,600 (when the SATs were 1,600), so he's no slouch. Word has it his IQ is really up there. So yeah, he graduated with a degree in Economics which is probably partially responsible for his finding a way to milk the Jets. I thought Fitzpatrick was really fun personality-wise but I started getting annoyed with his kvetching towards the end of his tenure here when he was grossly overpaid.
Even considering how he flamed out here, I still like the guy. That one good season with him was something special, especially the way he bonded with Mangold. He was crazy and he won us some games. Good luck to the guy.
Love him or hate him, and this is pitiful to admit, in 2015 he gave us the most entertaining 5 game stretch we've had in a very long time including (also pitiful to admit) one of the greatest drives we've had since 2010. Dang- can't find the whole OT drive but here was THE play:
That really was a good throw from Fitz. Fading backwards, he lofted it perfectly. That seems like a very long time ago now...
It's a dumb signing because Fitzpatrick is actually good enough to win a few extra games than Brock Osweiler would but still not good enough to get to or do anything in the playoffs. I know you can't blatantly tell your new coach "we are tanking for Tua" but you could have given him Osweiler as the QB and said good luck. The difference between the #1 and #2 picks next year is going to be astronomical.
