    Passed away at the age of 73. One of the greatest clutch hitters, I ever saw play.

    I replied in the Death Pool but Rusty I'll say again, he was one of my favorite players growing up, could always be counted on for a pinch hit rbi when needed

    Staub was a good solid player and an excellent hitter playing in that pitcher's dream park at Shea. He had ok range in RF and a gun for an arm and he had good power up the alleys. If he'd played in Detroit or another decent hitter's park for his entire career he probably would have hit 400+ HR's and been well up the RBI and Runs lists by the time he retired.

    Rusty's biggest accomplishment was raising millions for FDNY and NYPD widows and their families

    Was always a fan of his throughout his career and feel the loss :(
