Will any team give the Skins compensation knowing they have to get rid of him?

This could really backfire on Snyder.

It would be a very browns thing to trade for him, they know they aren't gonna get him in free agency

Someone may trade just to avoid the free agency competition, but I don't think the Redskins will get much in return

It would be dangerous for the redskins. He could wait unail July to sign it and they'd have to carry the full charge on their cap. Plus if they can' trade him, they' be stuck with him and Alex Smith.

If Redskins have even half the brain they wouldn’t do this for reasons @Mario states. But this is Redskins front office we are talking about. One of thefew franchises worse than Jets.

I almost hope they do it, under the philosophy of "God does for us what we can't do for ourselves".

Yet another instance of Redskins stupidity is why I don't put too much stock in Cousins's W-L record.

    Lunacy. Kirk Cousins would either

    A) File grievance against Washington

    B) Sign the tag and get 34M and screw Washington over in the process.

Washington is almost as inept as Cleveland, and that's saying something

There is no way the Skins will tag Cousins. Such a stupid report, sure they will consider it then figure out there are 34mil reasons they won’t franchise him.

As stupid as inane this move may be for the Skin's, would the Jets be just as lame to still try to persue him and lose a draft pick? Wouldn't surprise me.

If tagged, cousins becomes a $34.5 million dollar , one year rental. Who would possibly trade draft picks for him. Only possible scenario is if a legit contender we're to lose their QB mid season and are desperate for a QB . Even then it's unlikely.
With over 64 million tied up at QB, they would have to clear around $21.5 million just to sign their draft picks. Let alone their own FAs.

No way this happens. I just can’t see it in any scenario possible.

All we had to do was lose a few more games and we wouldn't be having this discussion. The one thing I like about Cousins is he turns us into a win now team.Imagine signing him and drafting Barkley at 6?Would be an epic off-season...

Cousins should sign the franchise tender immediately and refuse to negotiate with any other team

"I look forward to competing for the starting QB job with Alex". 35 million dollars for one season....backup or not Ill take it......

Reason why I cant see them actually doing it

The whole league should conspire against them so the Redskins can tie 55 million in cap space on two QB's.

This is the Redskins trying to scare teams into trading for him but it would be team suicide for the redskins to actually do this.

    He'll be released.
