Cool guy, shit way to die.

Although his most notable film was FMJ, I liked him best in Se7en.

Sad... I liked him in "On Deadly Ground" w/ Steven Seagal and of course, FMJ. How many classic lines came out of that movie??

RIP Dude was classic.... and that role is iconic in cinema

    *sidenote
A long time ago asking my dad about Vietnam (after that long run of hollywood movies)....
He said the only one close to reality was FMJ (Actually he said "That's pretty much how it was").
He did give an honorable mention to Apocalypse Now. "What? seriously?!" "There was ALOT of fucked up shit going on that few people know about"

I felt bad when I heard. He talked the talk and walked the walk. He was unwavering in his support of our men and women in uniform and the treatment of our veterans, both young and old. 'Private Pyle', it was sickly funny, what a great and iconic job Ermey did.He was also great in 'Mississippi Burning'. RIP, Gunny. Semper Fidelis.

I just spent like 45 minutes searching for personal stories about him and the two most mentioned accomplishments were FMJ and fucking Toy Story.

Disney can suck my fucking dick.

    Gunny was a good dude.

He went AWOL from a USO tour in the winter of '03-'04 by just staying on the helicopter when all the other stars got off. He told the crew he wanted to go see the the guys who were roughing it, not the guys who were in the rear with the gear. They flew him out to see us in our little micro-FOB on the Iranian border. 88 guys, no electricity, no running water, and he acted like it was the only place worth being.

I always wondered if he got in any trouble for that. We never did get another USO visitor.
