Read my lips: RIP. I really liked Barbara Bush. She was so down-to-earth and no nonsense. It doesn't surprise me that he followed her not that long after. It's very common in the elderly.

Bush 41 was a decent POTUS. I was active duty when GW I kicked off. Bush was the kind of leader you could respect especially since he was x-mil himself. Barb unfortunately I will never forgive for her Katrina commentary. I wonder which POTUS's show up for the funeral and which don't..I think we all know the answer to that..

    RIP Bush41.....

^I forgot about that diarrhea of the mouth comment of hers, but I did in general really like her. I just remember everyone carrying on and alleging that George W. Bush (the President at the time, of course) didn't care about the victims of Katrina because the majority of them were African American. I think that was a little misguided and knee-jerk, but who am I to say. It was just horribly disorganized and mismanaged, and based on FEMA at the time, I don't pretend to know what could have been done differently. There were horrific stories of inmates drowning in prison and guards actually shooting some of them because they couldn't release them. Katrina was a bad, bad, scene. Apparently FEMA didn't improve all that much i.e. Sandy, and insurance companies are still ripping people off/defrauding customers/refusing to compensate based on false reports on the insurance adjusters end. Insurance, see how I laugh. ==> As to Katrina, State Farm was caught shredding original policies knowing people who had lost everything no longer had original copies therefore no proof of insurance. People should've gone to prison for a long, long time for that, but it barely made headlines. I remember, though. You're damn right I do. Scumbags.

I think Hillary's comment, "What difference does it MAKE?!" during the Benghazi hearings was also pretty fckn bad. If I disliked her before, it was unmovable after that. Both comments were bad. Please be advised that I'm not pulling a classic Cheats fan move and deflecting. I'm not. No politics, I know. We'll put the brakes on here.

Truly a great American who dedicated his life to public service.

Regardless of how you viewed his politics - he has been one of the few politicians in my lifetime that I feel was purely dedicated to serving his country more than just himself.

He lived and extroadinary life. RIP

If you have to go to combat, at least have a CiC that you can respect and clear achievable goals. I admire those still on active duty serving our country in hot zones around the world. How they do it, I'll never know but I'm just glad its not me. That's where Bush43 went wrong. He had Chickenhawks calling shots instead of true combat vets. Bush43 tried but never was the POTUS Bush41 was.

The last President with a resume that qualified him for the job. A Patriot and a Globalist. He left the world better when he left then when he came in. RIP.

I'll tell a funny anecdote about Bush 41. Before, during, and after the Shock and Awe invasion of Iraq in 2003, Bush used to call Saddam Hussein (phonetically) Suhdammmm. It was just how he pronounced it. It turns out he was unwittingly calling him a monkey in Iraqi slang. Hahahaha.

Bush 41 was a decent man. I mean he was so decent he has the CIA HQ named after him and he invited a compromised Russian mole as President to his funeral. That takes some kind of character.

    Btw, lol: [IMG]

It’s amazing that people can’t help but to bring politics into any conversation.
