Larry Grantham, who starred at outside linebacker for the first 13 seasons of the Jets' existence, including of course in Super Bowl III, and was inducted into the Ring of Honor in 2011, has died. He was 78. >>Full Article<<
He was definitely worth watching. Tremendous drive and a sure wrap up tackler. Took too long to put him up in the Ring of Honor. RIP for some sweet memories.
RIP, Larry. Thanks for being a great player for the Jets. I'm sorry that they were never able to get another SB title while you were alive.
As my signature for the past 10 or 11 years would indicate, this is very upsetting news to me. An excellent player, like Gerry Philbin and Winston Hill criminally underappreciated because he played in the AFL. He was a member of All-Time AFL Second Team. By all accounts he was also a stand-up guy. RIP.
One of favorites Jet. It sucks getting old and seeing your favorites like your memories fade away. RIP
My consideration of the man should be obvious to all here. The linbacking corps, led by Grantham, were the unheralded key of the Jets D in their Super Bowl season. RIP Larry.
