Here is the deal. Based on above choices, predict the Jets season record for 2018 season and you will have a shot at $25 reward. At the end of the regular season if your selection is the winner, you will enter into a draw and if you are one of the 4 people who predicted the same record you will win $25. Say 15 people selected 7-9 and Jets ended the season at 7-9. I will write down names of these 15 people in a paper and select 4 names and those names will win $25 each. Poll will end next Sunday. Think wisely before you poll and good luck to everyone.
Thanks, Brook! EDIT: I just realized that I voted, but never stated in my post what my prediction is, and I want to make sure I qualify for that $25! LOL I say 6-10.
9 wins 7 losses. Depending on how things shake out in the AFC, 9 wins might get you a 5 or 6 seed in the AFC Playoffs. Not saying we are making the playoffs though. Just sayin' it's possible. Last year I predicted 2 wins, and the Jets won 5 games with Josh McCown and Bryce fucking Petty as the backup. LMAO! In 7 of their 11 losses the Jets were in the game ( Lost by 9, 7, 3, 5, 5, 8, 7) losing by an average of 6.29 points. Out of those 7 close losses the Jets easily could won 4 of them: week 7 at Dolphins, week 8 home vs Falcons, week 12 home vs Panthers, and week 16 home vs Chargers - especially if we had a competent quarterback backing up our starting quarterback. Keep in mind, that's with impressive wins against the Jaguars and Chiefs that year too. The 2017 Jets went 2-4 vs the AFC East. I expect the 2018 Jets to at the very least go 3-3 vs the division, and with my green Jets googles on tight I see 4 wins vs the division. 5 to 6 wins versus the rest of the schedule is realistic, in my honest opinion. Yes our Jets have flaws. Aint got a pass rush, an average o-line when healthy, and a coach who coaches scared at times, but we got Sam fucking Darnold and a defense that bends but doesn't break bitches. I see some ugly wins for sure in 2018, but I'll take them because it's important to establish a winning culture now that we have the FACE of the franchise in Sam Darnold.
As I said in the other thread I will go with 7-9, and I think that's being optimistic, not pessimistic.
10-6, Wild Card, lose the AFC Divisional Game at Pittsburgh when Myers misses two field goals. I’ll take my winnings in Drachma thank you.
In my heart I feel 10-6 but since so many people predict 10-6... I'll go 11-5 and have better odds if decided from a pick of the hat . If I win the award Brook!? I'd like for you to donate my $25.00 for me to 'All Children's hospital'. https://www.hopkinsallchildrens.org/inFL
6-10. Darnold has a learning curve to deal with no matter how smart he is. The defense still lacks the pass rusher needed to make a difference. Oline is still average which means they can’t take over the trenches to put the game away by running the ball if jets have a lead. Penalties have killed this team every year and I believe they will again, it goes back to top level talent, jets don’t have it. Skrine will be picked on again as the weak link in the secondary. Kaci Rodgers sucks as a DC. The team will be a reflection of its CS and the average talent they have. I hope they prove me wrong.
$25? That's it? Thanks, Woody. Always the cheapskate. This is like when Woody gave Wayne Chrebet a plaque instead of a paid vacation to honor him in The New Dump at HT. The Jets were playing the Vikings. The lights went out and we all almost got electrocuted during a violent T-storm. They evacuated us, haha, that POS Palace. For those who were there, you know what I'm talking about. Me and @Royal Tee cracked up about it later. "What a cheap motherfukker." OK, I'll play. 7 - 9. If I win I'll just donate it back or to my local food bank.
I'm trying to be realistic and figure out where the wins would come from. Against the AFCE, let's shoot for 3-3, maybe better if the Bills/Dolphins are worse than I suspect. AFCS, I think we can beat the Titans. Texans/Colts depends on their QBs' health, and I don't even want to think about the Jaguars. I'm pessimistic, so let's call it 1-3. I like our chances against the Broncos. Please beat the Browns for the love of God. NFCN, if Rodgers is all the way back the Packers will probably kill us, probably not going to beat the Vikings either, and I think we can beat the Bears or the Lions. Let's say 1-3. So that's...a nice inoffensive 7-9 season. Predicated, of course, on Darnold not having a disatrous rookie season, or any major injuries.
