Except, not for the reason you think. "Coach Rex Ryan stated Friday that the Jets will not place Darrelle Revis (torn ACL) on injured reserve in hopes he can return for the Super Bowl." Please, tell me this is a joke. http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4155/darrelle-revis What is going on with this team?
I didn't hear the actual clip with my own ears, but I mean if the HC is saying they are waiting to see if Revis will be back by the Super Bowl as a reason not to IR him, irregardless of surgery how on earth does that make sense?
No. I'm entering the WTF is the leadership of this team doing phase. But then I'm told I'm flipping out for simply questioning the decisions of the team. Simple response to a simple piece of info.
Its real early in the season. Some people recover faster. If we did make a playoff run there would be a chance he could play. I doubt it but there is different types of tears. If its a small one it still requires surgery but won't take as long to recover.
The point is to win the superbowl. If there's an outside chance you can add Revis for the superbowl if your team happens to make it there, then why not keep him on the roster? They're waiting for the result of the surgery so they have a better idea how long his recovery will take. What doesn't make sense here?
this is a perfectly reasonable answer. Like I said previously, I see that Rex says he is holding out hope pending Revis playing in the Super Bowl, as a reason not to designate him to the IR and I can hardly believe my eyes. Your explanation coming out of Rex's mouth and this thread never happens.
Is this like the "Stephen Hill wasn't my pick" debacle? In case people haven't figured it out yet, never read anything Rex says and flip out without hearing HOW HE SAID IT.
You'd think by now the jerkoffs that flip out over every non-context quote would realize that he's not just coming and saying this on his own. He was likely asked a nit-picky question like wellll, how come you haven't IR'd Revis yet? And that was his response. It's a bit foolhardy but he's not just coming to the podium and leading off with that.
I have to agree with Turk here. Wouldnt you think we would be better suited to putting him on IR (why compermise the guys career) and freeing up a spot to sign a Chris Carr in the meantime? This may actually allow us the time needed for this roster spot player to Gel with the team as well as maybe get us to the super bowl (the goal right?). Could this be a contract thing with Revis? I dont have a clue what the verbage is in his contract, maybe an injury VS games played clause; who the fuck knows. I dont know what the hell this front office is doing, but they are running this franchise like a fucking gas station in the hood latley!
Hey the year the Steelers went to the Super Bowl 30, Rod Woodson tore his ACL and the Steelers ran a 2-QB system heavily after that (Neil O'Donnel and Kordell Stewart). Rod Woodson played in the Super Bowl that year, but the only problem is that he tore his ACL game 1 in 1995.
haha! I know it was difficult. He was being rational, but I do have a bottel of Jamison in my desk and it Friday...so who knows! JK Turk-ey
