Woody has said it, he would like Revis back. We desperately need him back and here's to hoping New England has a short post season so we can get on with him bringing him back in a Jets uniform baby!!!
I wouldn't pay him a penny more than $12 million a year. He will end up with $15 or $16 in a mercenary deal in free agency. Don't worry, though. Brandon Flowers can still be ours.
why? the only reason he leaves is if they choose not to pay him because they feel they don't need him.
He's not coming back without Rex and it doesn't matter now, anyway. The team will likely stink next year and Revis is probably going to be like Deon going from contender-to-contender. We needed Revis this year, not in 2015. I wouldn't be surpised if Rex gets a HC job that Revis signs with him.
any chance of him coming back went out the door with rex ryan this morning thank woody johnson for that
I wonder if Rex's decision on where to coach next would come down to who had the cap room to sign Revis. Although ATL does have a fairly solid defensive backfield to build around.
What would he bring us besides a 30 year old body and a $12-15 million dollar cap hit? Does this team have the talent to contend for a championship? If no, then let him go get paid somewhere else.
I didn't hear the presser. If Woody was not the obstruction to re-signing Revis why are we hearing this now. I don't believe it because the Woody anti-Revis agents talk had been going on for years. Plus isn't this tampering. Revis is under contract to the Patriots. Also it's dumb. Revis if released (his deal for 2015 is over 20 mil-so if he doesn't renegotiate with NEP then he could be a FA) will hold Woody to this and try to take him to the cleaners in terms of a contract. You don't negotiate on TV. btw on the Revis trade: Idzik got a first rounder (Sheldon Richardson) plus another pick for a guy coming off of a serious injury who reportedly the owner didn't want to re-sign. (Revis was asking for 16 mil per season, remember). Not a bad trade at all. So who would you rather have: Revis or Richardson. I'd take Sheldon, not even close.
This is spot on. Makes no sense for Revis to return to a rebuilding franchise when he can contend for the VLT annually with the team he's with now or some other deep pocketed contender.
