Looking back we've all focused on a lot of variables to rate QBs.

    -Size
    -Arm Strength
    -System
    -Accuracy

But IMO with the way College football currently is played and how the NFL is becoming more passer friendly I think we should have more of a focus on these 3 things.

    -Accuracy
    -IQ
    -Production

If a kid coming out of college is accuracy, smart and produces I think he can excel at this level. Other variables are important but these are the 3 main ones because they all will likely translate the next level.

MY top 3 qualities when evaluating QB's to the NFL Level.

Accuracy, specifically in the intermediate range
Vision, esp when faced with the blitz. Is he keeping his eyes downfield the whole time?
Footwork. Can't get proper velocity or accuracy if you can't get your footwork set

I still would include arm strength. I don't think it should trump the other things you listed, but a great arm allows a QB to do things when all else fails. And I'm not talking about having to have a cannon like Mahomes - although that IS a gift!. But he needs to be able to make throws in bad weather/wind/cold, and into much smaller windows than at the college level. Still, the other things you listed probably indicate a guy who can usually find a way to win, and that's the bottom line.

    A Jet QB:

    - Strong arm
    - IQ
    - Fundamentals established [correlates to accuracy]
    - Toughness

Although it's not really a "quality", I would also prefer a QB who comes from a team that isn't loaded with talent around him, but he still finds ways to succeed - not necessarily win, but make his team competitive and still produce good stats.

Yup, that's actually one of the more important evaluations to make as well. Agreed!

That’s what scared me off of Watson but he may be an exception, but you are right, most good nfl qb right now, did not come from the loaded teams in the college. Specially, teams with too end weapons that the qb can just chuck it up to and get bailed out. I want a qb that was the best player on his team and it wasn’t debatable.

can't believe how off I was about Watson. everyone KNEW he was a gamer, but I didn't think he could make the throws he's making now, making those throws in extremely tight windows.

    And throws like this too:

This guy really stepped his game up. Will Fuller is crazy good too.

Same, after the championship buzz wore off it kinda looked like Williams and legget we’re making him. Was thinking a more polished Tebow throwing to Hernandez and Harvin situation. I was very wrong so far

Okay with all these attributes listed

    -Toughness
    -IQ
    -Fundamentals(Accuracy)
    -Arm Strength
    -Production
    -Vision
    -Not carried by talent

Which current college QB checks off the most of the 7 boxes

Isn't that part of the problem though, too many boxes to tick? Is anyone going to tick them all? And if they don't then you need to determine which are priorities. I liked the idea of your first post that tried to distil it down to three key attributes and then perhaps add secondary ones to further grade out those that pass the first cut.

Precisely, there's so much that goes into the position its a wonder half the league is usually looking for one, 25% is usually looking to upgrade and the other 8 teams are probably set.

But yes my key 3 attributes would have had us take Watson or Mahomes in round 1 because they checked off all 3 boxes and then had other key attributes like Mobility(Watson), Arm Strength(Mahomes).

Another key is offensive minded head coach with a history or an ability to get the most out of QBs but thats another story.
