Allen has poor pocket presence and awareness. His movement is very immature, always instinctively running backwards instead of stepping up or finding space in the pocket. Same way Geno reacted to pressure. The OL has done him no favors today but he’s going to be far more dependent on his offensive line playing well than Darnold or Mayfield. This was evident on his college tape.
Are you that clueless? He's averaging 3 yards per pass attempt, and has shown NO ability to handle even the slightest adversity. He's also made stupid decisions when under pressure. I already said that the OL looks terrible, but if you think Allen has shown even the slightest competence in this game you're ridiculous.
If you can evaluate the QB today when he can barely get back to set his feet before the defense is barreling down on him and the line constantly committing false starts putting us in 2nd and 3rd and long, you are the greatest evaluator in the country and should be hired as a scout. The broadcast shows all receivers blanketed. But go on...
Thank you for making my point for me. Whether there are excuses or not, whether he'll get better or not, in this game his performance was what you would expect from someone completely overwhelmed by what is going on around him. He played poorly in this game, exactly as I said he did, and you making excuses for it doesn't change that fact in the slightest. Try using a little reading comprehension next time, rather than having a knee jerk reaction to nothing that I actually said.
Fine. He was great. In fact, I therefore know you'll agree when I say that I fervently hope that he shows exactly this level of performance and ability in every game he plays for the Bills in his entire career.
I thought he handled it well against the Browns. Hard to judge imo this game, dude had guys in his face immediately.
Allen was overwhelmed today. No doubt about it, but the Bengals have a pretty good Defense and the Bills have a pretty bad offensive line. No need to panic or worry about Allen yet. I saw your post earlier and agree, he needs to start the season on the bench. Nothing wrong with that either. I like his potential but always felt he was the least pro-ready of the main 4 QB's from the draft (Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Allen).
He is. Buccaneers fans called him "Napoleon Dynamite" while down here in Tampa Bay. He's horrible. https://goo.gl/images/giuvFM
14 zip Arizona without an offensive TD had a pick six and a special teams TD neither of which the Jets know anything about
Add in an INT in the endzone, 17-0 at the half. WTF am I watching this game for, none of the interesting guys (Dak/Zeke/DJ) are even playing.
